ReidOne 12,427
I'm disappointed in her. Very irresponsible and immature of her to be tweeting comments like this, encouraging the protests by saying it's "Trump's fault." Right now in LA, protesters have shut down the freeways, are putting our police officers in harms way, and costing LA taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars (probably hundreds of thousands of dollars) in expenses to help contain this mess. There's nothing productive about this activity. There are countless other ways to mobilize and have your voice heard without shutting down an entire metropolitan city and putting innocent people in danger (while breaking the law by sitting on the freeway, mind you). Gaga is being completely hypocritical. She needs to accept the results and move on.

Princess Die 1,864
Wow. She is such a good person to look up to. Almost makes me want to stop being a venomous bitch...almost. These aren't violent riots so there are no "innocent people in harms way." Protests are a vitally important part of a healthy democracy. These protests are the best way possible to send a message to the rest of the world that a large portion of the American public rejects the policies and positions held by Donald Trump. The thing is that he doesn't even hold the office yet, so she's basically undermining democracy in her country by protesting against a democraticly chosen president. They majority of votes cast in the election yesterday went to Hillary Clinton. She won the popular vote. That is a fact. This whole electoral vote thing is absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. Well, not really. If we lived in a democracy and had a democratic system of electing presidents Hillary would win, as she received more votes. But I don't think that is what these protests are about. I don't see any of those protesters trying to challenge his win, they are just making their disapproval of him as clear as possible. It's a rejection of his rhetoric not a rejection of the results of the election.
Blinky38 20
There would be riots/protests regardless of whether Gaga protested or not. And what do you think Trump supporters would've done if Hillary had won? It'd probably be worse. And I don't see Gaga encouraging violence, she's protesting. The electoral college can be frustrating, but it has its place. The United States is a huge piece of land, with vastly different cultures and needs across its states. If we elected based on popular vote, the urban centers with highly concentrated populations would decide the vote every time. Some states would have no voice whatsoever. So, the electoral college allows for every state in the nation to have some voice in the selection of the President. It's a way to help ensure that the needs of citizens in more rural and suburban areas are addressed and equally prioritized by the President.

Then again, this makes the country very susceptible to populism and we haved a great example of that right now. Some people are simply too stupid to decide on such important issues.
