Not The Real Gaga 7,506
Don't get me wrong, but imo Perfect Illusion and Dancing In Circles don't belong on Joanne. The style of these songs is totally different and fits better on a real pop album. Although I really love Perfect Illusion and kind of like Dancing In Circles, they are not as pure and authentic as the other songs on Joanne are. The choice of using Perfect Illusion as the lead single of Joanne is also a little weird, imo. I mean, the song doesn't represent the musical genre of Joanne at all. It would better fit on an album as ARTPOP, actually. Unfortunately, over-produced. Which is absolutely not necessary, looking at the beautiful vibe of pure music of Joanne. For me, Joanne sounds really country, especially songs as A-YO and Sinner's Prayer, so I think it would be better if she would use that style on the whole album. What do you think about Perfect Illusion and Dancing In Circles as Joanne-songs?
Fiona Apple 13,006
Joanne is not a concept album in terms of sound or message.
TropicOfCANCER 6,292
I agree and disagree to some extent. If PI and DIC don't fit in sonically, then how does Come to Mama? Or DH? or Hey Girl? or even John Wayne? I think the only country sounding songs are: A-yo, John Wayne (the hoe-down chorus), Million Reasons and Sinner's Prayer (which is more folk-influenced, than country). In fact, i would argue the country influences on the album are extremely light. In a perfect world (for me); she would've cut DIC and JW--the most conventionally pop songs, and added two or three more rock-esque songs, to tie in DH and PI more. The Child 18,997
I read the title as pee & dîck don't belong on Joanne. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
KinneyUnderYou 0
I think it's balanced very well. The album has songs you can dance to, cry to, listen to on the road when you think about the nonexistent apocalypse in the world, rub to, scream to, and have fun to. I love the album so much. Yes, I admit it, it has its own mood when listening to it, but it's brilliant. I am proud of Lady Gaga.
Azor Ahai 18,861
John Wayne fits in the same category with these 2. Also Hey Girl is a random R&B duet that doesn't fit either. But this always happen with Gaga albums they are all over the place.

boobtank 9,090
Perfect Illusion is amongst Gaga's best singles of her career, come for me.
GhettoFabulous 18,501
Also They uplift the general mood of the album so yes they should be there. They're probably the most Gaga songs on the album
TEANUS 14,963
The only "country" songs are A-YO (more rock than anything) and Sinner's Prayer (more folk). There are no songs fitting in the modern country form either (Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood, etc., a faster paced country-pop) John Wayne is a solid pop song with folk influences, but it's chorus, breakdown structure, and bridge are all solid pop Joanne is a pop album influenced by rock, country, folk, R&B, and dance. Her most eclectic work to date British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
