They were technically as big success-wise but sold a lot less because of the current sales climate. So somewhere like that, and Bad Romamce/Telephone would have both went #1. Work as big as Poker Face? I'd say PF would be comparable to Uptown Funk but probably even bigger than that. It was number one around the world for like forever. Work wasn't even number one in that many countries I believe
barcodemonster 3,525
Those songs are hugely responsible for the dance pop movement that occurred in the late 2000's early 2010's. So assuming the Black Eyed Peas wouldn't have released their trendsetting music at that time as well, I guess the whole movement would've just been pushed back to 2015/2016. But this is al too hard to tell. Would Adele still have happened? There is so many factors that rely on each other and it's too difficult. The best answer I can give you based on if Gaga was fresh on the scene in 2015/2016 and all the trends were essentially the same, as well as being in the "streaming age" they would've sold less yet had a lot more youtube views and a lot of streams therefore topping the billboard hot 100 longer. I also have a theory that those songs in general and the whole dance movement got so big is partly because of the Great Recession and maybe people were looking for happiness and an upbeat escape through dance music? Has anyone else thought of this? Of course it's not the sole factor but I believe it's partly a reason. scan my barcode

I've seen everything now Uptown Funk still sold around 10 million WW in 2014/15 when record sales were still down, Poker Face would not have done that even if it was as big of a hit as it was in 2009. Uptown Funk is about to pass 2 billion VEVO views and has like 600-700 million streams on Spotify. It's literally one of the biggest hits of all time, worldwide especially. Poker Face was absolutely huge, but not as big as Uptown Funk.
Fame IV 4,426
You don't need to talk in a past tense. Poker Face and Just Dance are Gaga's classic songs, they weren't huge - the ARE huge. A Star is Born ⭐

In Germany Poker Face had a higher peak and also stayed longer in the charts than Uptown Funk. Uptown Funk peaked at 3, PF was number 1 for 13 weeks
AndyDWUW 3,971
They would be EVEN BIGGER. She almost single handedly brought EDM back to pop music assuming no one did it between 2009 until now, it would explode even more because everythings more interconnected and more people have access to the it ernet. Because I remember there was definitely a lot talk about this on the news back then, but it never really affected my family or anyone I knew. It was just that the numbers and statistics about the economy weren't that great but nothing bad happenend So, I think it didn't have a great impact on the music people listened to. But nice thought

I am trying my breakthrough as an actor and my page could use some exposure. THANKS in advance, guys! www.facebook.com/MyOwnFado/ The reason why we have acronyms is because it takes too long. But here is a shortlist to tell the difference between the J's. JD: Just dance. JAD: Just Another Day JnD, J'n'D, J&D: Jewels 'n' Drugs. The entire forum is not going to turn on dime for you. It's best you learn, as this has become a thing within the fandom. I learned abbreviations on Gaia, before I ever came here. Also, just link your facebook to your GGD post. Several users have accounts on here, and they only post to promote themselves, which has not left them with great reputations here. Though you seem like a nice person, it's best not to try and capitalize the site constantly.

Look at the person I'm quoting. they added a random addendum of how they're an actor looking for a job. And several of their previous posts have been them asking for help. I don't know why you quoted me, since I said several users, which less 1% of the userbase here.
