too long to read

I just hope it's something among the lines of her work for hunger games or her song with Disclosure because I can't stand her other songs :green:

As much as I loved Pure Heroine for her maturity and ability to write at a such a young age, I have always found her a bit pretentious.

In my messy era.

I listened to Pure Heroine two days ago in full and it was awesome. I can't wait to hear her sophomore album. :lolly:

Well, she sure hasn't dropped the pretentious since graduating from being a teen. This doesn't exactly bode well. It's giving me visions of when Gaga said all these grandoise statements just before releasing BTW and AP and we know how they turned out. But at least Gaga had a few hits before then and continues to get some. But Lorde still only has one hit. She can't be surprised if the public don't accept her this time, after this length of break into the bargain. I've found that creating a really weird song for your debut is the easiest way to get a #1...but the public only want to hear that experimentation once. If she's still doing that stripped back beat, talk-singing with songs about the excesses of society and woe is me, the music buying public will not be here for it.

I'm excited. I actually feel really similar, growing up and being about the same age. The words in this really resonate with me.

We'll see how this translates to music though :rip:

私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

I don't see this as pretentious at all, it's exactly how I feel about turning 20 soon, it's exactly how I felt what her first album captured, and she's so passionate. I love it.
