xoxo cupcakke 4,781
Just now, Fay said: I did not lump an entire race and say they are the same but when a government system is targeted towards a certain race, there will be similarities and problems that other people dont have. Yes white people are on welfare but the majority of white people do not live on welfare unlike other races. I know people dont abuse the welfare system.. what im saying is people who live on welfare will forever live on welfare and wont make progress meaning it is not helping them. It makes children born into a family that never worked and it will ruin his future and it also ruin marriages as women dont need men or care to find a good man to be the father of her child and thats why the black community has 70% of their children raised in a home without a father. Before the welfare system, black people lives was much better and was progressing until the welfare system was introduced. You personally may not see that you have generalized peoples but how you're expressing your thoughts is generalization. You do it again when you say "...people who live on welfare will forever live on welfare and wont make progress..." First off, that is false, there have been many people who have been born into a family dependent on the welfare system and have made a name or career for themselves. Second, if you're gonna give statistics, you better cite your sources Third, you do know that the reason more minorities depend on welfare to sustain a decent standard of living—which many of these people depend on welfare despite having a job—because of the huge financial and educational inequalities in this country. You have to realize and understand that if you don't have enough to live in a decent area in a country or city, there will be more people who are socioeconomically in your position. This socioeconomic region of poverty will result in a seemingly unbreakable cycle of poverty, high crime, high mortality, bad schools, bad health, etc. More importantly, if you can't get a decent access to an education in this country, you are virtually screwed for life. Whether you get into a good school is dependent on the abilities of the student, and if you are too poor to afford educational assistance, than those abilities are dependent upon the natural talent of the students themselves. If you are too poor to afford assistance and you are struggling in a subject and there are no means with which you can receive any further assistance because your parents didn't finish school because they were in the same position in school and because you don't yourself truly believe in the power of education, then you'll just return to the cycle that you were born into That's why so many people are dependent upon welfare and that's why it is very difficult for some to break that cycle. It's the reality of the United States and one that should not have to exist. Don't live in this world of assumptions; truly understand what is going in the nation before you make any irrational generalizations which hurt the people involved. There are so many factors at play that you cannot just pin it down to one

I understand what you are saying, I just believe in a different approach in solving the problem specially that the democrats way has failed minorities for decades. I also understand why people are dependent on welfare and I dont blame them but the government should stop this system as its stopping minorities from progressing. I know you will say that they wont be able to live if we cut out welfare but I disagree with that.. the reason why they wont survive without welfare is because the whole system and government is wrong. The reason why people cant afford education and health is because governments fund them and it becomes more expensive.

I do know you don't mean all people but the mistake is seeming generalization which you don't seem to understand is a huge issue in this country because whether or not you don't mean all people, by creating generalizations, you are adding more fuel to the fire of those who actually believe in these generalizations And welfare does not stop minorities from progressing. Welfare is meant to be there when you can barely afford to even live in this country and, like I said, there are so many factors at play as to why a person is in the place that they are in this society. Yes, the government needs reform with policies that can benefit the underprivileged, but to completely erase a system of welfare is a stupid idea. You can promote the success of certain peoples all you want through policy, but it won't eliminate the underlying problems which face those peoples in society such as various -isms and discrimination. Eliminating welfare will eliminate any chance of you progressing through life if you can't live up to the decent standard of living. It's not issue of quick resolve; it is more complicated than you or I make it out to be

I know what welfare is meat to do but its not doing what its meant to do and thats my problem with it. People on welfare do not have the incentive, capability, skills and experience to be productive and achieve something in this world and I am part of this welfare system and it ruined my life. I never said anything about programs to benefit underprivileged and I dont believe there is a big discrimination problem so obviously we both will have different solutions to this problem. It is your problem if people believe generalizations, because then it becomes my problem when people generalize me as a "good-for-nothing" illegal immigrant of which I am not 2. People on welfare may not have the opportunities many have, but there are those who do have the skills and the talents to get out of the cycle of welfare but it cannot because... 3. You and various others don't see that there is a discrimination problem and you and many others believe that language does not have an affect on society which it does I'm done with this. Obviously, you can't see what is wrong with your logic, which it's okay to not want to be wrong, but it's wrong to not see the blatant issues at hand which actually exist and cannot be ignored or treated so miniscule

I did not generalize so if people take my words and generalize it, it is their actions that is wrong because nothing of what I said should lead them to generalize. People who want to generalize will generalize regardless. I did not talk about illegals but yes all illegals do hurt the country, thats why it is called illegal and thats why its illegal around the world for people to enter a country.. if you want to allow illegal immigrants in, then you should not believe in boarders and end your government all together. 2. I do believe that you can easily get out of the welfare system if you are smart like I did. 3. I believe discrimination exists and it will always exist till the end of times but I dont believe its a huge problem to the point where a whole race lives in poverty because of it. They say women are discriminated against in the work place because of the wage gap when its not true as the wage gap is simply the average earnings of men and women working full time, it does not count for different job positions, hours work or different jobs. You guys believe that if something is not equal, then its the cause of racism and discrimination when sometimes its simply choices, biology and circumstances. Minorities or blacks are not as successful as others because of government systems like the welfare, giving them drugs, the war of drugs and many other reasons that ruined the black community but it has nothing to do with discrimination. / Language does have an effect on society but before anything, I support all kind of freedom of speech even if its hate speech specially that all this is a subjective matter and we cant create laws based on subjective opinions. Disagreeing with you does not mean I dont see the problems you are talking about as I do acknowledge it and agree they exist, we just believe in different approaches to solving the problem. Saying I dont want to be wrong simply because I dont agree with you is just stupid, I can also say the same thing about you. I think we are having an interesting conversation and sharing our thoughts but if you want to end it, simply dont respond to this comment.
