Sinner's Prayer isn't really country, I'd  call it folk. But whatever floats your boat. :sara:

OP: I love them all, but I usually skip Grigio Girls and Angel Down.

folk would be the title track. Even the imagery in SP is very country (gold, religion, mountains etc) and the vocals too but thats my opinion hahahah

A-Yo is a bit country too if you listen closely

Western Influences doesn't mean country. It's closer to pop rock tbh. Also sounds kinda broadway to me for some reason. The sitar melody is everything

Grigio Girls. Diamond Heart is a close second. I'm sorry, I just think it was the wrong album opener, wrong production, wrong sound for the song. It could have worked with a different beat/production. But GG is even worse. I appreciate her meaning behind it, but maybe it would have been nice if she recorded the song and presented it to Sonja as a private gift. Not putting it on the actual album.

:green: It's just that I'm into country music right now and it's really hard to make connections with Sinners Prayer to people like Luke Bryan.

Maybe country music from the 60's/70's are more relatable.

Probably Sinner's Prayer. It's a very good song and I enjoy it (the guitar gives me life), but it's the one that I like the least.

If you asked me a few weeks ago I'd have said Hey Girl, but it grew on me a lot.

feeling so hot tamale

The only song that i always skip is A-Yo. I find it tragic that it was even suggested as a single honestly :madge:

Was at a beach in Sydney today where apart from tourists you see A LOT of hipsters and alternatives. I was excited to see a group of young men and women with a Bluetooth speaker walking down the beachfront with A-YO in full blast :)

A-Yo - weak lyrics + honky-tonk/MANiCURE instrumentation that doesn't fit in the overall feel of the album (I still jam to it, don't get me wrong, but it's the weakest one.)

Sinner's Prayer - AMAZING LYRICS, BUT... The instrumentation could be re-worked and improved more, especially on the chorus. I feel like a more sensual, Lana Del Rey-esque slow version would make the meaning and feel of the song more effective.

Angel Down (Work Tape) too but c'mon it's just a demo

I still listen to all of them though. I don't skip one track ever except for perfect illusion since i've overplayed the track
