Songs on Joanne that made me cry

Very rarely do I cry when I listen to a song without a visual or live performance or without something directly happening to me then and there but with Joanne...WOW

Angel Down, Grigio Girls and Million Reasons all made me cry - and not just little tears here and there - actually break down! The way she delivers those songs. Her voice. The lyrics. Just the real raw honesty in these songs and the fact I have gone through so much over the last few years (and we all have) they just really hit home. AND GOSH when she sang Grigio Girls to Sonja at the 2nd Bud Light show WOW. I was a mess. I will be even more of a mess once the tour starts and she sings these songs there.

The whole album really echoes with tonnes of different emotions - real human emotions and thats what I love about it. You can have a cry, a laugh, get a bit naughty and really it encourages you to not take people you love for granted! Just wanted to share coz listening to this album makes alot of things make sense and for the things that still don't make sense I'll make them make sense and pop a bottle of Pinot Grigio! SO PROUD OF HER! <3

I made a thread about this too!

I rarely get emotional from songs. And listening to Joanne was the first time I'd actually cried, like properly cried tears, from listening to music.

It was Joanne, and even more so Angel Down that did it for me. For the first at least 7 listens of each song I got emotional too! Then after the dive bar tour performance, Grigio Girls started to get me too!

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

P.S. I was glad I watched the 2nd dive bar performance alone because it made me emotional :laughga:  I very almost watched it at my friend's place with him and that would've made the experience different. I love feeling connected to Gaga through her music.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

AWWWW so amazing to see other people having that deep of a connection and reaction too!

I know! Every song has some kind of emotion it draws out of you and then puts back into you! Shes really made something deep rooted and magical!

Its a shock hey when a song makes you properly cry its so powerful a feeling. So alien at first.

Million Reasons, Angel Down and Hey Girl made me cry first time I heard them. I still break down each time I listen to Hey Girls; it makes me feel incredibly sad and lonely.

Joanne, Million Reasons and Grigio Girls are very personal songs that'd make me cry if I had lost someone really close. I lost a friend to cancer this year so Grigio Girls was kind of emotional to listen to.

I like Angel Down and I get the melancholic sound and lyrics, but I feel like they didn't "explore" the theme of it enough. It just went on and on around in circles when it could've been a deeper meaning song.

Wow! I love that you have a deep connection to Hey Girl! Its a very powerful song and the vocals from both of them only makes it even more harrowing! Really hope they sing it live somtime!

Like Gaga says anyone that has gone through loss or pending loss - its really an album of life and loss and how each of those things affects us. Sending you love and light for your loss! <3 <3 <3

What would you have wanted them to do with Angel Down to make it explore the themes more?

There's nothing better than music connecting people! That's why I love her shows so much. Thousands of people in a room together having the same experience, going through the emotions together, singing the same words together. And she made it all happen. The same words she wrote when she was alone somewhere, with a pen and paper, writing about her feelings.

It's why the performance of Angel Down and Joanne on the roof of The Bitter End (where she begun as an unknown girl) also made me cry! It hit me when I saw a crowd of people below in the streets, and they were singing Angel Down back to her, after the album had only been out for about a week.

Man... music! It's one of the best things we as humans have.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
