And of course a stadium tour will sell a lot of tickets, stil hasn't surpased the Sticky and Sweet Tour. That's cause Madonna is friggin' Madonna. And as a Madonna stan, even I can acknowledge that Madonna's tickets are also WAY overpriced. But does that matter at the end of the day? No. People still bought it, period. You have to have an excellent live reputation and massive star-power to do that and let's face it, only Madonna and Beyoncé possess that enough to have this kind of continuous live success. The only other female live mega-successes in recent years have been Taylor Swift and Adele. Adele's success is due to the sheer fact she's THE vocalist of our time and Taylor Swift's tour gross is quite inexplicable to me since I've seen her tour and I find her to be a less superior live act than others but hey, she came of a HUGE era, let's blame it on that. All of the other popacts don't come close to these four. Gaga was well on her way with the Monster Ball, then sort of crippled in the tour category. If you're going to come for Beyoncé, at least come with decent statements. Saying her "tickets are overpriced" doesn't mean anything, that still doesn't change the outstanding success she's achieved over the past years with her touring. Mrs. Carter + On The Run + Formation Tour's have grossed $600 million. Who cares if the tickets were overpriced? Massive amounts of people obviously paid good money, cause that 600 mill obviously didn't come from 25 BeyHive members who each paid millions to be alone in a stadium. This fanbase is just salty AF another artist has risen to the occasion and rose to legendary status before Gaga did. But why are you guys mad? Gaga and Beyoncé have done nothing but praise each other over the years and Gaga claimed in her 2010 Vanity Fair article she "watched Beyoncé sing Survivor on MTV and said to herself that's going to be me one day." So why you mad? Beyoncé has been doing this for a much longer time than Gaga. Destiny's Child debut was in 1997, that's 20 years ago. Beyoncé's solo career really started to take off in 2002. That's 15 years ago. Of course Beyoncé gets praised more, to be THIS relevant and successful after 20 years in the business is much more of an achievement than Gaga snatching a #1 simply because she's a much more "recent" artist. And people on the internet praise Beyoncé so much because she is continuously an outstanding performer. She's vocally strong, she rehearses until her feet bleed and she always gives 100% on stage. People see that and they respond well to it. And in recent years, she quit being a pleaser to everyone. 10 years ago, the idea of Beyoncé doing a Black Lives Matter inspired album film or Super Bowl Performance would've been unimaginable. She's really come into her own and let's face it, the fact she's an artist of color make her achievements even more of a feat when a lot of people are still racist as hell and commercial opportunities are much smaller for woman of color. So you can all stay mad and argue on wether Beyoncé is a "local US act" or not. Her tour gross says otherwise, which is the real money-maker and part she focussed on. Her recent albums and songs have also created momentum in this over-crowded online day and age, which is more than we can say about any of Beyoncé's peers in recent times. So what, none of her recent singles have gone massively viral, who cares? People still know them, don't they? Record sales are dead. Before the internet, an artist of Gaga's level opening with sales of 201k would've been considered a massive bomb. Now, we're ecstatic she didn't open with anything below 100k. Sales are dead. And regardless, Beyoncé's Lemonade still had the highest female debut of the year and the second highest debut overal with 653k and that's without streaming on Spotify or Apple Music since it was a Tidal exclusive in it's first days. Only Drake did better this year. And that's Beyoncé's sixth solo album, eleventh including DC. It's also one of the most critically acclaimed albums of recent times and the 23rd album ever to receive 5 out of 5 stars by Rolling Stone, they almost never do that. So while many of you may find her "overrated" because of the continuous praise she gets, I find it inspiring and I'm not alone, the 2.3 million people who attended The Formation Tour obviously agree. It's sad you guys have to tear down the achievements of someone else just to feel better about Gaga's achievements or your other favorite artist and their success. And the endless discussion about Beyoncé's songwriting is so irrelevant at this point. She's obviously (it's well-documented) co-written a lot of her hits and albums. Who cares that she's got co-writers and has "writing camps" for her albums? It's still curated 100% by Beyoncé, she's still the one singing it, delivering the songs, emotionally provoking something out of the audience. Is Lady Gaga less of a musician because most of the songs on ARTPOP were instrumentals the producers already had made before working with her? The majority of ARTPOP are made-up of instrumentals, samples and loops that Gaga found while digging through the laptops of DJWS, Madeon and Zedd. She then basically free-styled over the songs and had massive help with that, too. But no, when it comes to her, y'all would focus on the fact she produced Venus by herself. It's elitist to think of Gaga as superior because she likes to be portrayed as the sole creator of her work when she is obviously not. Gaga may write more lyrics than most of her colleagues overall, it still doesn't change the fact she does have co-writers on the majority of her tracks. And that's okay, it doesn't diminish her accomplishments and neither does it diminish Beyoncé's. Stop being haters, start being celebrators.

And in a very small amount (just 11) of European countries at that. That sounds pretty localised to me. Her Mrs Carter tour included Latin America too but it didn't have the amazing numbers there that her previous tours had. She hasn't toured in Asia since the I Am tour. She used to really concentrate on that region back then, just like she did with B'Day, but not anymore. She's paid Asia dust for the last 7 years in every respect. If she's so global, how come she can't perform in that continent every year, like some artists can? You can see by the charts that she's not been supported in Asia for years. And despite her embracing of the black community for the last 2 albums, once again, she's done no gigs in Africa or the Caribbean since the I Am tour. Her team have obviously told her to position herself as an American staple with performances and tour dates and told her that everywhere else doesn't matter as much. But its sure backfiring in ways her fans don't want to admit.
