ReidOne 12,427
He should get dragged for this, honestly. You don't go around promoting your new book proclaiming "I had an eating disorder, but then again I actually don't think I had an eating disorder and really I think my life was a mess and I was depressed and drinking a lot and not really eating because I worked a lot and then partied a lot and didn't really take time to eat, but I didn't care because I was having some weird control issues. But yeah, eating disorder I guess? Buy my book and read all the details to decide for yourself!!!" That's not an eating disorder, son! Anxiety issues yes, but "eating disorder" is a very serious, specific and misunderstood condition that needs to be diagnosed by a professional before you go blabbing about it for headlines. It requires intensive treatment, and is not just something that you "kind of" have and then goes away after a while, like you are making it seem. MESS. I can't stand this guy. SychosSoChic 9,995
This is not going to do anything to help him sell his flop book, or salvage his reputation Purely because I don't actually know if he's being honest, or if he's using it to promote his book Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us. "Something I've never talked about in public before, but which I have come to terms with since leaving the band, is that I was suffering from an eating disorder." He downplayed it though and then the article goes and says it was "serious"
gagaisitalian 3,573
Well the other four boys could handle it, and they did handle it with grace and maturity. So it's just time to retire and live off of your 1D/Pillow Talk money.

His description of his eating disorder is identical to Gaga's. If someone says "I didn't feel like I had control over anything else in my life, but food was something I could control, so I did." - that is an eating disorder. Period. He had an abnormal and unhealthy eating habit stemming from psychological issues. That is the literal definition of an eating disorder. To undercut someone's battle with an eating disorder by suggesting that without a formal diagnoses their claims are illegitimate is offensive. There is a spectrum of severity that comes with eating disorders, not all require "intensive treatment" to cure.
The Child 18,997
Well he should maybe stop doing drugs honestly and start eating healthy. Please don't take my comment in a bad way, I don't mean it as a judgement as I'm not better than him but I really like him and I feel concerned about him. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

Haroon 49,685
I mean he said "I didn't feel like I had control over anything else in my life, but food was something I could control, so I did" which is one of the most common eating disorder triggers But then why does he kinda contradict himself later in the interview?
