I think this is unnecessary! After the AMA's we can talk about streaming and sales. We all know she's recovering from ARTPOP, pls give her a break! Let her do her thing!

I have a hard time believing that pre-teens and teenagers watch this unless it goes super viral like the ones by Justin Bieber or Adele.

So far, it's like people between 25-40 responding the the most the Gaga rn.

Ever since she entred the music scene, a new generation has emerged. The post millenials. And they're even more fickle than us :deadbanana:

I know I'm embarassed by my peers:madge:

Because young people are not interested in her and in general R&B music does better on streaming platforms

I actually think if Million Reasons becomes a smash it'll help her become a streaming artist. Joanne is her first real release in the streaming era.

In general getting hits in the streaming era boosts your overall streaming power. That is why it's such a huge problem that they chose the worst song on the record as the lead single. They blew a major opporuntiy. And for what, what exactly? Nothing.

Is pop music even really popular on streaming platforms?  Apple Music is dominated by hip hop and R&B.

100+2 Lady Gaga - Million Reasons 2255 464,845 -68,868 3,750,282 +81,424 10,434,371

it's catching up, I guess?  I mean the weekly numbers is up +81000. so patience I guess?

the thing is that there is SO MANY casual listener on spotify which really depend on spotify playlist such as Today's Top Hits, Teen Pop playlist etc. (its true I guess, I saw many my friends live feed listening only between those playlist) If u don't featured in that playlist, well good luck I guess? Its quite funny though it's like nowadays Radio playlist. that's why sometimes top 50 is just that song again and again.

Million Reasons featured in Piano Ballads playlist which is quite big but not that big enough.

So radio is our hope. or maybe we force spotify to include MR? idk

Also she is recovering from that previous era that not quite resonating with the GPs

Can't we all admit that if her music reached out to younger generations they would be streaming it like there's no tomorrow?

I see all this crap about "people tend to rely on Spotify playlists", "People who bought the album don't stream it", "Gaga is not a streaming machine". wtf? Applause got over 150 million streams on Spotify. I think when her music appeals to as many people as possible, she gets the streams AND the sales.

Understand my point, I love Perfect Illusion, I love A-YO, and I love many other songs on the album, but I knew the minute I listened to PI that it's not gonna break records because you have to be into her music and her evolving imagery to "get it". I can hardly see teenagers praising JOANNE and to be honest many teenagers on Gaga Daily have shown their unsupport towards the album.

It's not me saying that you need to be mature to understand the album and fall in love with it, it's just that you have to be at a point in your life where you've had bad relationships, breakups, rejections, crying times, lost one or two dear family members or friends, and now you're working on healing yourself, to understand what she's aiming at.

And my guesses is that if she retained from putting so much dancing songs on the album is probably because she didn't want this to be her dancing records, all we can do is hope that her next albums are going to appeal to a larger proportion of her audience.

I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time.
