"Obviously, when“Perfect Illusion” came out and there was a little bit of this mixed things to it, I was a little worried. I was like, “Oh ****. Did somebody give me the keys to the Ferrari and I crashed it?”

I cannot get enough of this quote, it's great.

The song is bad so we did well

It is not bad. Who are you to say it is just cause you aren't fond of it. That doesn't make it a fact.

To hell that it wasn't as big as other leads, it's still a great song.  I blare it all the time and it continues to give me an adrenaline rush everytime.

Your other faves wish they could sing a song like she can in that one.

1)You can literally say that about every damn song so it's a pointless answer.I find the song musically POOR.

2)I did not mention any other artists in my post so I don't see why you did in your answer.Having good vocals doesn't make a song great

... we met then and I really liked her. I saw a lot of similarities and parallels between us. City kids, music dorks. She’s a little sexier than I am, but it was like… I enjoyed it.

Ohhh the Mark + Gaga romance sparks just keep flying!   :hor:

I love that Joanne was the first song they wrote. His descriptions of them writing it together, of not knowing whether it would be at all perfect for the Lady Gaga "brand", but knowing they created something moving and beautiful is so heartening. It also makes the off-base criticisms of her not being "authentic" enough with this album even more frustratingly off-base.

Anyway, it seems this was a huge learning process for him in how to handle being involved in such a high profile project. He's no rookie, and his past work is extremely well-known and impressive with Amy, Bruno, Adele etc., but he's never worked with a huge glittery female pop star like her before - the kind that are expected to chart high and churn out the "bops".  The fact that he threw his first twitter shade this weekend is incredibly amusing to me. It just proves what extra pressure these female pop stars are constantly under and what biases they have to deal with that even Mark, a seasoned producer, felt a bit taken aback.

I think more than anything, really great artists, you look back at their career, they transcend genre.

I notice with our fans, of course, in the beginning it’s so different than what she’s done, but I feel like the thing that most of her fans seem to really pull out of their relationship with her is how honest and vulnerable she is. She’s just like raw, open thing, being like, “I feel you, I hear you, I’m singing for all of you.”

aka monsters4life. :queenga:

Then when the album came and seeing her fans react to songs like “Diamond Heart” that’s still a rock song and “Dancing In Circles” and “John Wayne” and be so behind it.

they know. get ready, monsters. :classy:

Having all these people be like, “I guess I’m about to buy my first Lady Gaga album,” guys who you wouldn’t normally think, they wouldn’t think of themselves as Gaga fans. Yeah, it’s a wonderful kind of metamorphosis for her.

still transforming as magic, i see. :firega:

The internet’s a very dangerous thing to put too much of your hopes and expectations into how people react to it obviously, because for every 10 wonderful glowing things you read, you only remember the one shitty negative one.

I feel like, from a musical standpoint, we’ve just had, for the most part, amazing feedback on it.

suck on that, "critics." :gaycat:

I think it’s also such a different thing. It’d probably take a little while for some of it to filter in.

:golfclap:

edit: She’s a little sexier than I am, but it was like… I enjoyed it.

mark, wtf. :air:

First you tell him that a song isn't bad just because he doesn't like it, and then you say it's a great song because you like it. Logic much :smh:  You are literally telling someone their opinion doesn't matter, but then you act as if your own opinion is all that matters :toofunny:

Lord Temptation

Mark is a deeply sexy man. He is 13 years older than me and that makes him even hotter.
