Swan Heart 7,382
This makes me very sad, as a huge fan of both Bowie and Gaga. Even if there were indeed too many songs and it was a bit messy (I can see his point here).. it was very genuine, that I'm sure of. Gaga adores Bowie and that was her way of looking back to his career and sharing her love for him. You should at least respect that, it's her trubute to him. A little off topic but Grammys could have given more then 5 minutes for a tribute to a legend who basically changed the whole music industry. Just saying. They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.
Nemo 4,293
Note that this was his pre-judgment, based on the concept. He didn't comment on the actual performance.

Be a little bit more respectful, it's not his fault. You're tired of people talking smack about Gaga, maybe you should show some respect and not talk smack about Bowie. You're a Gaga fan and you're a Madonna fan. Both artists have praised Bowie and claimed him as a giant influence on their careers. Thankfully, I don't let the opinions of my two musical idols dictate how I feel about David Bowie. There's been nothing but hate from his camp since February; perhaps their just following the example set forth by David himself. JackTheTripper 866
I think it was Cher who once said, the best thing you can do for your career is to die.... Everything is capitalized on tragedy, its fortunate for everybody involved to have their part of the cake. I loved Amy Winehouse verry verry much-but i was diguisted with campaign post her death and plans from her father to bring extra extra cash while making stupid decisions about his daughters name and legacy. Same is with Bowie- A drummer of 3 years -so OBVIOUSLY milking plainly beacuse he was related to Bowie and worked (3 years only in the 70s). About the Gagas performance-first minute is visually and sonicly beatiful and amazing -that redindition of Space odysey represented Bowie wonderful for me- and I was his fan before Gaga even appeared. The rest however was as they said tacky and crowded, messy over the top- all in all badly edited . It seemed more like Eurovision and less like Bowies post death tribute
VANTABLACK 7,793
I thought it was tacky too, I thought the effects were cool. But i wish Gaga dressed more like herself like platforms with a black body suit and her fame era bangs with the lighting bolt . Also would have loved to see a more Clean and slick asthetic to the tribute more like gagas own simple performances like the Brit awards dance in the dark .but regardless , if it wasn't for gaga I wouldn't even be into David bowies songs . but do u know who is more tacky? ... David fycking Bowie she basically recreated one of his own of his sets he used to do in the 70s. With the boiler room suits and rope and everything . Everyone used to see him as tacky he got the same hate just like Gaga did in her career . Its show business , it's gonna be tacky lmao that's the point . I think David Bowie and his team have been jealous of gaga since she came out because she was the next weird superstar and she did fame better thenn him and anyone else . And this is just the Begining . Lets talk after the super bowl , woody

Creyk 17,817
I mean, if you read his reasoning he is right....Gaga's performance was brought down by cramming in 6-8 songs into 4,5 minutes, and that made it messy. That is the problem he had too. And it's so true, WTF is that, Gaga? Do 1-2 songs but do them well not 15. Why did she even have that idea lol. ryhanna 3,507
Ah, that's fair. He knew the man, if he doesn't think a tribute is going to accurately represent who Bowie was then he has every right to decline.
Weasel 12,525
''but it doesn’t help a lot, it doesn’t do a lot.'' Well, Gaga's performance gave Bowie more recognition than him declining it to start with.
