God he makes it sound like she intentionally disrespected Bowie. She loved Bowie so much it's not fair she has to get dragged to the pits. I have all the respect for Bowie and his band and family but idk they could be a little more open minded about it.

He was just a drummer. Maybe he is an incredible musician, but I don't see why his opinion on the tribute act to the person he worked with matters that much. To me, Nile Rodgers' opinion is the one that matters.

I think people are seeing beyond the point... Yeah it was a tacky performance. I admittedly have only watched it maybe twice cause it was so cringeworthy, BUT for Bowie's band members to just **** on their performance that Rogers was also a huge part of, is kind of disrespectful in itself. They had a different plan for this Grammys performance, so they rushed to get it changed because of Bowie's death. They said that, so of course it was a mess. But to detract from Gaga doing her best to honor a man she was so heavily inspired by just because it was tacky, just doesn't seem right to me. Just because the performance wasn't that great, does that automatically mean that the performance was disrespectful? I feel that that's what this guy is trying to say.

i kinda agree there were too much songs in a short performance, but I think it was still fun, no reason to tell her to **** off, now that's tacky.

It was him and Tony Visconti though...  Tony Visconti who produced 13 Bowie albums from Bowie's second (self titled) album in 1969 to his latest album Blackstar in 2016.

Seems like Nile Rodgers is the only one associated with Bowie who actually likes Gaga. :ohno:

Am I the only one who Iactually LOVED Gaga's Bowie tribute even though it was slightly messy?  You know she was dedicated to it.

 Loved it!!!! :D

I'm about sick of everyone involved with this overrated "performer" crawling out of irrelevance to talk smack about Lady Gaga. She was better off saying "fck no" when she was offered the opportunity to perform this tribute.

Well, Gaga only sang 8 of his songs, not 14 or 15 but also, the fact that he responds to an offer with "**** off" says more about him than the tribute itself.

a nobody refused Gaga :laughga: why should we give him attention?!?

This actually makes me so sad. There's no need to drag her like that. You can clearly see how much she loves and appreciates Bowie. His whole crew has been shading her as if she was the worst person ever. She has always talked about her respect towards Bowie and how much he has inspired her. It's not like she takes elements from her biggest idol and claims that they're her inventions: she always makes it clear that she wants to continue Bowie's thing. It's a part of her image. That's why she was the best person to tribute Bowie, no matter what the final product was. I'm sick of these legends (and people associated to them) being disrespectful to younger artists. It's so petty and proves that Gaga is on the same level with these successful musicians. Sorry, I had to rant :saladga:

Bowie is Gaga's hero... She has a tattoo of him on her body. Be a little bit more respectful, it's not his fault. You're tired of people talking smack about Gaga, maybe you should show some respect and not talk smack about Bowie.

You're a Gaga fan and you're a Madonna fan. Both artists have praised Bowie and claimed him as a giant influence on their careers.

Yes it was a mess but they should all respect the performance for what it is, a TRIBUTE. Being an ass about it is tacky and gross. Say you respect it and just move on, or be silent.

I feel for Gaga when she said she was hurt by duncan's comment because she loves bowie so much and wanted to emulate his charisma through that performance. Her intention was all in good faith to bowie's legacy and somehow their judgemental brains misunderstood that.
