I'm well-aware of the white noise, but I'm more disturbed by the layering of Florence's vocals in Hey Girl and the glitchy part in Dancin In Circles where it goes "Vanish as I touch myself" :emma: But I've gotten more or less used to them soooo :flop:

Explain more please. What do you mean the layering and what glitchy part? :duck:

It is part of the song, most of the Joanne tracks doesn't have pitch correction or autotune, and that includes the intrumental, i suppose they just recorded and put it that way on the disc, Joanne is really close to a live album.

I thought I went crazy to assume that also, I thought I've just misheard it so many times but it just does this weird thing when she says vanish, IDK what it is :air:

What is a white noise?

A sound with equal amounts of all frequencies.

I mean, I can definitely hear it at the beginning, but to the point where I can hear the chords being played? No. It's not that extreme.

I actually like it, gives me the feel of being played live in an intimate space (like a dive bar :stalkga: )

Obviously it is recorded as reel-to-reel. It was an analog recording then converted to digital. Many people love its sound (including me) it gives warmth to the music. Most people now a days don't like the sound because they like the squeaky clean computer beats. But that's why I adore vinyls more than CD.

I'm not really good in painting an accurate picture of it, but if you hear Florence's part when she sings "Lady is it lonely? / I've calling out your name", it's like her vocals weren't layered properly. There were probably two or more layers of her singing, but they're not aligned/synchronised. Idk I thought it was quite blatant in the sound. :toofunny:

Regarding the glitchy part, I feel whoever was working on the part in DIC that goes "Vanish as I touch myself" was trying to bring Gaga's breathy, non-rounded vocals back in to tune, but it ends up sounding robotic.

Me too omg. This album really doesn't have the cleanest production, but it's what I like about it - that it sounds akin to music from the analogue days.

I don't actually hate PI

I never noticed, I'll keep an ear out in future thank you. :)

There seems to be a lot of things on the album where it doesn't seem polished, we don't even need to mention the queef in PI. :laughga:

Yeah, Ive noticed that too. But its nowhere near as bad or loud as you make it out to be

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

No problem! But tbh, the errors are nothing too jarring for me. And above all, as long as we enjoy the album then why should it matter.

Also, can I be honest and say that I didn't even know about the queef in PI until today... :toofunny: The queen of farts just keeps claiming every title there is! :ladyhaha:
