Daydream 541
Here is a reason why Million Reasons needs to be a second single. This is a recurring theme I found with female artists. After a bad era, their first single usually does not do very well because they are still recovering from a negative reputation by the general public. However, they release a powerful ballad as a second single that does extremely well in the charts and the general public gravitate towards them again. These artists also won Grammys for their song or album (the only exception is Madonna). Bedtime Stories by Madonna Secret → Take a Bow The Emancipation of Mimi by Mariah Carey It's Like That → We Belong Together Stripped by Christina Aguilera Dirrty → Beautiful Million Reasons needs to be a single! melodichard 3,769
I feel like a lot of the General public was here for Gaga's lead single though, they just don't like Perfect Illusion
Jinzo 9,639
i agree MR has the potential to be her first #1 ballad

Antonio 27,769
The second single (A-YO) was already chosen and sent to radio. I completely agree with you, but it has nothing to do with other artist's second single success, but the fact it's doing really well on iTunes now and the GP are eating it up. Thrasher 22,980
I completely agree. Also, a ballad like Million Reasons becoming a smash hit could do wonders for her reputation, especially in my country where here and there she's always "that Rah-Rah girl who wore a meat dress" I think that A-YO won't do anything in that sense. It sounds to me like an usual Gaga single. She needs that ballad hit instead, like all the others (Beyoncé has Halo, Rihanna has Stay, Adele has Someone Like You, etc.) “Come over, when you’re sober”
SamJ 8,008
Dirrty was massive wtf. Gaga had a hit with PI stop complaining so what if its not one of the biggest songs of the year its still a hit song that charted high. She hasn't got to recover at all she is in her prime! Its highest peak was #16 or #19, I don't remember. However, an artist like Xtina at the time was more accustomed to #1s or even top 5s, so Dirrty was considered a flop.
