I know of several cases of TV payola (back when MTV was still a thing) and how they got a hefty fine for only playing music of Universal artists. German radio is not really... susceptible for payola at all as it is heavily de-centralized (unlike that iHeartRadio thing in the USA) and a lot of the radios being state-funded entities that are completely transparent Germans just have bad taste and that's why J-Lo got a hit with that song.
