In case he should end around 230-240k, again we can say that Gaga did very well with Joanne during first week, considering all the circumstances like not having a hit, not being in her peak etc.

It's not radio's fault, it's Gaga's & her team's fault. 

They literally had around 2 years to properly plan a new era but they already ****ed up with the first single. To this date it hasn't been performed on TV except for Japan and even that was just the acoustic version.

Then the mismanagement continues by not being able to decide a second single and they make the same mistake that they've already made before with Venus/DWUW and Judas/TEOG. 

Just because MR was doing well on iTunes for a few days doesn't mean that they should scrap all previous plans. By the time it was sent to radio the hype was already gone and to make matters even worse the video is nowhere to be seen. 

You all can scream "The Superbowl performance is coming" all you want but at the end of the day it'll only boost her sales for a few days and that's it. 

The era is practically dead and I doubt that even the Superbowl can save it. 

In order for the era to have longevity she'd need to have at least a semi hit single but it looks like it's not happening. 

The superbowl will be a fiasco, bookmark me. She'll sing Joanne with the guitar and the stage won't be so impressive. Let's be clear, now she's lady, not gaga...

If that really happens it would be a) a huge disappointment and b) a wasted opportunity. 
People can bash Katy all they want but her Superbowl performance was actually great.

 I do agree with you about the second single thing. They always do it and it's annoying but so do the fans. With the whole petition bullshit. Just cuz it went number one on iTunes after cpk which goes viral online and it was also discounted. Look at things like the voice preformces they go top 10 - 20 on iTunes then after a day or two they fall down and their gone forever. I do think they should of still kept ayo as the second single it seemed like she had a lot planned for it. 

 

The thing i dont agree on is saying she didn't do enough promo for it. She's done bigger and more promo for it than DWUW and that peaked at number 13 with no video, it had radio support though. She preformed MR on everything that gets really high raitings this time of year. CPK, which gets millions of views and goes viral online the next day, SNL which gets millions of view, the amas which isn't the biggest award show but it still gets millions of views, and VSFS if she preformes it there. It was also discounted TWICE. The only thing she hasn't done would be like talk shows like Ellen and stuff, but she shouldn't have too. Gaga only did snl and the amas for DWUW from what I can remember and it was all going well while we waited for the video. I really do think it's the fact that radio won't play her and her streaming for the song being ****. If you look at other countries like Switzerland it's not doing bad at all.

If there is no video for MR next week then there will never be one.  It's clear they are just doing promo singles this album, like she said on Howard Stern. Do people have short term memory loss?

But let's not forget that MR wasn't a single when she performed it on CPK & SNL.

She was basically gone from the pop scene for like 3 years and in order for people to realize that she's back, she should do more promo imo...especially when it has been so long since she had a huge hit. 

Another factor is that she's not "Gaga" anymore, so if we compare DWUW at the AMAs & MR at the AMAs, obviously the one that would be more talked about would be the DWUW one. 

She's almost like a brand new artist now because a lot of the things now are the complete opposite of what they used to be.

Radio is obviously a big factor too, but I don't think it's solely to blame for MR's chart performance.

Katy performance was TRASH,  but again people think that Britney is a singer and go to her concerts to see her mediocre dance. And dont jump at me. I was a Britney Stan,  but that is the true. We dont know how Lady Gaga SuperBowl performance will be. All we know is that she is a great live singer and entertainer and the live performances this era were very good.

i do agree her so called "3 year hiatus come back" should have been bigger but that was her first single which everything about that era was just non existent but I was only talking about The MR era in my last post.

 

im not saying radio is solely to blame of course if people do t like it they don't like it all I was saying is that she did do US tv promo for it bigger than she did for her last second single DWUW and that was more successful. 

 

can you tell me another US event that would of gotten good ratings from the end of October - now? All I can think about is talk shows. All my posts was trying to say was that Gaga DID promote it (in the us) and people are making it out to seem like she's lazy or doesn't care.

 

but like I said I'm not delusional and just putting the blame on one thing. Obviously it's radio not playing her. It's the song not getting good views or listens on streaming services and not being promoted on them. It's also the fact that their is still no music video and no one knowing if it even exists or not. And it also has to do with the song itself like I said if people don't like it they don't you can't force it.
