OMF 3,453
Not sure on this one 🤔 Depends on what she has in mind for a music video.

Maybe in America the taste is tad different because of the country music. Shake It Off is less aggressive and it took me some time but it made sense that it was so successful. Uptown Funk is way more funky and pop-ish. A-YO feels like a fan favorite, can't see it becoming a hit. Million Reasons would do so good if it had radio promotion. It already did well without ANY promotion (#4 on iTunes!). A-YO got red updates even after the Apple commercial video so I am not optimistic about it. I am turkish though, I do not have a taste for country music, A-YO is definitely not a country song though. It has even less country influence than Madonna's Don't Tell Me. And of course, A-YO is different from those songs I said they were similar, let's say compared to smash hit of The Chainsmokers "Don't Let Me Down", and other recent hits; not that they are the same. A-YO has Gaga rage in it. It is the most personal characteristic of Gaga's vocals. Those raging vocals is the reason why Gaga's songs are hard to cover properly... Also A-YO has rock'n roll vibe compared to Uptown Funk; but still style of those 3 songs are somehow similar compared to most other radio hits. A-YO is not a fan fav though, fans are the ones who don't like A-YO; plus difference of sales that A-YO & Million Reasons have is marginal. They are both 50-something on kworb... I do not think that people who are not fans affect sales at that level to be honest. If we talk by numbers, they are all about fans now, tonight is literally the first time the album got chance to be exposed to public, and obviously one TV show is not enough to wake up whole GP. The two songs each have something that the other doesn't, but they both have an equal potential to become hits for entirely different reasons And really, when you think about it, Gaga has yet to release a piano ballad as an official single, which is kind of strange now that I think about it that in her entire career, besides C2C, all her singles have been so synthetic instead of organic Joanne was partly released to showcase this organic, free-range Gaga, and what better way to do it than to release a single (not deep cuts) that has everyone singing and waving lighters in the air. I think Gaga should wait on A-YO or release it along side Million Reasons because if Million Reasons does end up getting released, that could potentially hurt A-YO's single success. This situation is rather tricky when you think about; so many catch-22s EDIT: I forgot about TIHTY being released but IDK if we should even count it as a main release I think Angel Down is so much better than Million Reasons as a ballad so I don't really see a reason to release MR as a single if Gaga was to release a ballad tbh. Angel Down is way better, but not sure if the GP are here for that. It would not do so well commercially, and even though Gaga is more about the music than the bling, she is still about the bling to a certain extent. This is how she makes a living after all, but I do see your points
doppelganger 3,933
The second single needs to be picked up the radio ... or it'll be harder for the third single MR might reach top 10 by December. It's a great song for the holidays and it'll help album sales for sure And an uptempo in January to carry the SuperBowl hype.
FRANK1991 3,329
I pick A-yo but I really want John Wayne to be a single please be a single Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone
SKANK 14,288
Million Reasons is the only song on Joanne that I can't listen to. It's insufferable. Her vocals are exhausting, there is no subtlety, it's a corny paint by the numbers country song. The chorus is painfully repetitive, and not in a hypnotic way like Poker Face, it's just monotonous. Even though A-Yo and Million Reasons are both scraping the bottom of the country cracker barrel for inspiration, at least A-Yo is fun. Would you rather see an inevitably schmaltzy Million Reasons music video, or a super gay disco cow girl music video for A-Yo? That latter please. RedandBlue 287
It should be Million Reasons. It's really annoying that they are not promoting any single at this point while MR is screaming "pick me!". Just commit already while the public is already here for it... I don't know what the problem is, PI is long out.

Mexican immigrant housekeeper, republican guy that is stuck in the traffic, housewife gossiping about how much their neighbor's dog barks; like EVERYONE. GP will eat that A-YO. I can't believe how people are too blind to see that A-YO is clearly a hit. I think Gaga should push A-YO to radio as an official single now ! She can just prepare and release a lyric video using apple music ad visuals. Lyric video is necessary for youtube views though ! Uh... if A-yo was that good everyone here would love it. It wont be her uptown funk ahah not even close.
