Do you think Katy has been sent back to the drawing board?

When Katy released Rise it seemed like the beginning of a new era for her but she's since fell off the radar, do you think she's had to go back into the studio to find a new lead single?

That's the theory but honestly don't believe it. There were no markings on the single cover and no references in the video to suggest it.

It wasn't heavily promoted as that before it was released, so I think that was the casual flick off when it didn't do well commercially.

It was. Rise was never meant to be a lead single and it has nothing to do with KP4. There's no theory here.

Yeah and plus here's the OFFICIAL song for the olympics

And the branded cover

Alma-e-Cora%C3%A7%C3%A3o-Thiaguinho-e-Pr

And for the London Olympics it was Muse, and this is the (heavily branded) cover

And here's the cover for Rise (which I like don't get me wrong but no Olympic references) :neyde:

Thanks for the support, babe! Besides aren't all these promo songs for FIFA world cup and Olympics etc stand alones? I think Waka Waka is like the only one that really blew up.

I don't think "Rise" was meant to be a lead, but I thought Katy was having issues with Bonnie McKee? Something like that could totally ruin plans.

"This is a song that’s been brewing inside me for years, that has finally come to the surface," Perry said of "Rise" in a statement. "I was inspired to finish it now, rather than save it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite,”

Katy said from the start that it wasn't a lead single or part of any album. It was supposed to be a stand alone single for the olympics.

Then she also performed it at the DNC which pissed off NBC because it was supposed to be an exclusive and they didn't want the song attached to any political party because politics gets controversial.

In any case, it wasn't supposed to be on any album.

Not even her ghost writer. Bonnie's credited as the writer of all of Katy's hits, I think. :emma:
