laut.de aka the pretentious German twin sister of Pitchfork just reviewed Joanne and just like ARTPOP, it got a surprisingly positive review!

A summary:

- Compared John Wayne's production to Madonna's Music album
- Perfect Illusion is the worst track, chorus is lyrically "thin" and seems screamed
- Diamond Heart is good
- Joanne (song) has a great, graceful chorus
- Million Reasons is great too
- Angel Down is the highlight of the album, best vocal performance on the album
- Dancin' in Circles is Alejandro 2.0
- Hey Girl is great too, Elton John influences are noticed (particularly Bernie & The Jetts)

Overall:  The album does not contain a new "Bad Romance", but it's Gaga's most coherant, personal and authentic album.

4/5 (unfortunately the score does not count towards metacritic, as they mostly track English publications).

For comparison, the following albums got those scores from laut.de

Lemonade: 4/5
Anti: 3/5
This Is Acting: 3/5
Dangerous Woman: 2/5
Glory: 2/5
This Is What The Truth Feels Like: 2/5
Thank You: 2/5

one of the few German reviews that actually assesss her music than just compare Joanne's outfits to her prior appearances

They did the same with ARTPOP and gave it a 4/5 as well. :classy:

So is Joanne number one in Germany?

Last time I checked it was #3.

German monsters, you made Gaga speak in German, you better break your wallets and your parent's wallets for her!!!

It's #3, but also the most expensive album of the Top 5. The German album charts don't get ranked after units sold, but rather the weekly revenue.

Selling 10,000 albums at a 0,99€ price will place you lower on a charts than 750 albums at the price of 13,99€.

So essentially,  German album charts count the bling not the music?

Slay, I guess! Get those coins Gaga!

I don't care that it's a good score. **** him for comparing John Wayne to a Madonna song. So unnecessary.
