So maybe this era there won't be a commercial or critical success :wtfga:

I'm surprised to a degree. It's a solid album but i can understand some of their points. It doesn't feel like much of a progression and more of a reaction. It doesn't really have that Gaga stamp on it.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

Meh. 40/100 seems lows, but I wouldn't give it more than 70

im already listening to the album less lol. It's so monotone. I skip so many songs already.

I miss ARTPOP a lot.

Yeah, I really find no hint of Gaga in it.

Its so weird that Gaga said she knew what her fans wanted and then proceeded to release music that's turned off her fans since day 1.

There is no suggestion that the person that wrote the Fame, The Fame Monster, BTW, and ARTPOP is the same person that wrote Joanne. :(

I agree. I just don't think I actually believe in it and it's message, if it even has one. I really do like the songs as a whole but I can't see myself listening to them in years to come like previous.

Well said.

I even listened to ARTPOP frequently until like mid summer 2016, and I never skip a song when it comes on.

Don't get me wrong, I don't strongly dislike any song on Joanne. I still think it's very monotone and it's not the music style that made me fall in love with Gaga.

Idk. I'm just disappointed because I was expecting a more Gaga style with Mark. I don't want to put her in a box, but I feel like she just forgot about her fans intentionally because we didn't buy ARTPOP :/

They hardly talked about the music itself.  :neyde:

Tbh, not bothered.  Journalists have always disliked Gaga.  Look back, the reviews for TF and TFM weren't even that good.

Can't wait until Friday when I can judge for myself :queenga:

Their POV is the other side of the coin of getting older. With "wisdom" often come cynicism and jadedness. They can only see Gaga as a try-hard, and refuse to believe that what she's doing—if it doesn't fit their idea of what a worthless pop C.U.N.T. (sans periods) should be—is anything beyond attention seeking. These people are at the literal opposite of what's fresh or real.

They're just festering axe wounds who get paid to be shitlords. Let them be bitter alcoholics in peace, and know that they'll most likely be at the helm of their own suffering for their whole lives.

Edit: And I say this as an old person (27 hay~) who sees his peers head down this road all the time.

There is a good review from The Telegraph but it already fell off from the trending topics of this site because no one is posting on its thread. Why giving so much attention to this completely non sense NYT review instead of cheer The Telegraph review?

wow that was so hard on her. its sad but some parts were so true though. she got so many nice collaborations for this album but still we can barely see how they featured in those songs.

and i am afraid that the songs of the album don't go along together well. the sound of the album after all sounds quite conflicting and lost.

I don't know why you guys care so much about critics reviews so much, you know they're just humans with opinions (like all of us), right? If you liked it (or hated it) who cares?

A musical critics job in the technology age is as useless as encyclopedias. Review the song on your own, it's online and would take you couple of minutes ffs

In a publication like NYT, reviews affect sales and public perception.

The Telegraph's review will neutralize this 40.

40 + 60 + 60 + 80 / 4 = 60

I doubt there will be more reviews below 60 tbh. But my hopes of this album having a higher score than TFM have gone to space. I think it will end up have something around 75 and that will be really good.

Yeah... Unfortunately, a lot of people need critics to decide what they can and can't like.

HAHAHAHA. this is such a piece of **** review. BYEEEEE.

He even had something bad to say about the good sis "Joanne" (the song). Like no, goodbye sir, I revoke your ability to be a critic. That song is FLAWLESS.
