Eighteen 5,430
i've always felt that being famous is an incredibly lonely, insulated, and isolated life, and you can see it in the interviews with really famous people (britney spears is a good example, she seems really lonely and sad at times). LG has explained this in interviews but you can see it in her music as well. she writes based on real life experience, that's her creative process, and when you're super famous you lack aspects of real life. over time she began writing about things only a super famous person would (in ARTPOP it was applause) and now she goes back into her history (Joanne) partly because maybe there is something lacking, an everyday life touch, that she had in the fame and the fame monster. i know she writes about love in her first two albums for the most part, but more than that goes into the creation of the song, the normal experiences of love that take place on the street, or for her maybe in a dive bar, or at the movies, the stuff of love is surrounded by the normal and the everyday. i greatly treasure my anonymity, that i can walk around and no one knows who i am, walk into a bar or something and talk with people and just get stupid, have a normal conversation, talk about life, get philosophical with strangers without worrying "will this end up in the tabloids," it's a beautiful thing to be able to do this. with this album cycle i think gaga's trying to get a part of that part of normal life back, so i can't blame her when she doesn't do a lot of big promo since it must be a struggle, to be successful (and as a byproduct to be famous) and to have some normalcy at the same time. so if you see her in real life, try to give her that normalcy, treat her as one of your friends, not as some god screaming at her and **** cause i imagine that, while i'd love my fans, i'd find it also ****ing annoying and isolating sometimes. talk to her about something normal. interesting fact: i personally am not even interested in meeting her at all anymore cause i know that i can't say anything that she hasn't heard a million times before. anyone else the same? thoughts on anything i've said? PunkTheFunk 124,403
Fame has its downsides, but being poor has its downsides too idk, I guess I hate hearing multi-millionaires whine about not being able to go to the grocery store in public when I have to think twice about buying a kit-kat bar
Benji 20,113
Agreed. Even mild celebrities like the Drag Race queens have said how hard it is to have all of these fans and then to go back to a hotel room alone because you're worried about who you can trust etc.

I would take being a celebrity with money even with the negatives over being any worse off than I am right now.

Seeka 12,372
I think it's far more worse nowadays though. It wasn't too long ago where a celebrity could actually manage to stay off cameras and not everyone wondering whether or not they died or something. Like I remember stories I've read about Marylin Monroe, about how if she changed the way she walked just a little, no one would notice her. All because she changed her gait, her presence. That can't really be done now. While I do want to be an author, a creator of visual novels and videogames, and probably have my hand in a whole bunch of things (maybe even acting) I know hat being a normal person has its advantages and I know if I get famous at any point in my life, I know I'd wanna trade it in and runaway from the world.
