I now get why she always said in interviews that she's thankful that Mark and the others accepted her as a musician when working in the studio. She feels heard this time around. She's controlling the reins. Up till now, I guess she wasn't heard even though she wrote the songs because the direction of everything was dictated by someone else. I do get it too while listening to Joanne.
