Exactly, I know people change and so does their preference on stuff, but shading your old self proves you weren't happy of who you were back at the days, then why were you doing it? which proves the haters right when they used to say "she's doing this only for attention".

That was before the whole thing, the "they are going to get distracted" part wasn't in the OP initially.
