I think if the democrats do a good job, they can keep the White House in 2020. I think if Hillary is as disliked and moderate in 4 years as she is now, someone from the left will primary her.

Worst best-case scenario is that Hillary wins, but the Republicans get the House and prevent her from doing anything substantial.

Then in four years, people will say "Hillary got nothing done! All talk and no action!" and they will vote Republican by a landslide.

 

Of course, the best best-case scenario is the GOP trifecta: White House, Senate, and Congress.

I agree with the left of social issue, but other than that, I personally don't really believe they understand how economically run a country. The conservatives have been stupid on many issue, but I think they would be financially better for the country. Free market all the way plz.

I think the democrats know exactly what their doing, the free market needs regulation to prevent people from getting abused

Of course, but there's a limit to how much the government can get involved. The more government intervention, the more difficult it is to allow businesses to grow. There totally need to be rules to prevent abuse and too much control from a corporation, but not at the expense of the business' natural growth. I really only favor the republicans on this issue, but it's a pretty important one. Wish there could be a better libertarian candidate...

I mean, they can, but unless it is Michelle Obama, they aren't getting the nomination over the person who holds the office...and it would put a Republican in office for sure. (Which is likely to happen anyhow)

I wouldn't put it past him. Trump addicted to the attention, but cares nothing about doing the actual work it takes to win and he could never handle to job...but he loves having people cheer for him and listen to him.

If they can run a good campaign they could do it, it really depends on Hillary's first term goes. If she's as low in approval as she is now, then a primary challenger could make the argument that she can't win and they need a replacement. Bernie called for someone to primary in 2012, maybe some will do Clinton in 2020. 

I don't see how it'd give it to a republican, if someone with higher approval ratings beats Clinton in the primary, it seems like it'd help the democrats chances.

Bernie was dead wrong then. Obama won.

A primary could have weakened Obama's support, pushed some Democrats to Romney or not to vote at all, and then we would have ended up with a Republican....with a Republican House and Senate!  Just think of how that woukd have set us back the last four years. Bernie's suggestion was foolish and dangerous! 

It's not going to happen. Hillary will be the nominee four years from now.

It's not going to happen. Hillary will be the nominee four years from now. 

Why would a primary have weakened Obamas support? If the primary opponent lost, there supporters would've gone to Obama. Just like most Clinton supporters went to Obama in 2008. I don't think Obama being a sitting president would've changed that. 

I don't think its extremely likely but I wouldn't rule it out. I could see someone pulling a Ted Kennedy if Hillary doesn't fight for the democrat platform.
