Yeah I like million reasons. 2:24 sounds very xtina though, and whilst it sounds nice and emotive, it is gonna effect her in the future. There is a real tradeoff. For her it's even more relevant since her voice has already been damaged.

see i love how her voice in that part particularly. its sooooo marianna faithful, stevie nicks. it draws back to the folk/rock goddesses of the 60s and 70s.

on the flip side, if you listen to the snippet of joanne, during the "where do you think you're going" she hits a hight note in this effortless, light and airy way that she would have never been able to do years ago.

She smokes (cannabis too which means without a filter), drinks, and did cocaine, she had done damage. At the national anthem, she only went up to a F#5 sharp in head voice, when she used to be able to belt G#5 so she if she showed all her voice her voice cant be as good as it used to be, she is great but it's damaged. It's like a good pianist playing a bad piano. And of course compared to the rest of the crop of singers she is in another leauge, BUT, thtat doesnt mean she should stop taking care of her voice.

higher is not always better. stop applying mindless pop rules to what makes a voice good or not, no one needs to hit a ****ing G sharp in the first place, ALSO it would've been out of key in accordance to the song she sang! where as during applause, she hits a G in her head voice both live and in studio. so that invalidates your point.

shouting and going higher and higher is not what makes a good singer. ariana grande can go really high but can she belt and have the roundness and power to her voice that gaga does? no not at all.

comparing what  super super high notes she used to "hit" to what she belts now is not a good measurement of any decrease in quality to her voice...

Not saying higher is better, but all else equal, if your voice is lower it's worse. Look at it this way, if she didn't smoke, she could do everything she done in the national anthem and probably go a bit higher and have more ressoance in her current range. Yes she might of demonstraighted some of her best technique at the superball, but the smoking has placed liminations on what she will be able to achieve as a singer. It is reality, smokig doesnt just cause cancer kids

She was putting on a whole faux girle-voice thing during TF that was really annoying.

I thought she said she spoke in an accent the fame era too!

Though I can't lie and must say drugs and age has changed it a bit

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.

C2C didn't do it, her voice changes pretty much every era.

In any case, her intense vocal training for the Sound of music contribuited a lot to the recent changes in her voice. After that, is when she came up with a lot more improvisation during the C2C tour, the no-microphone note in Bang Bang, La Vie En Rose (a very challenging song for her imo) and TIHTY vocals. I bet she wouldn't do half of these things if it wasn't because of the SOM, her voice grew a lot.

Still, I don't hear any major negative change, it's just the style she came up with this era.

"YOU USED TO BE SO KIND, I NEVER KNEW YOU HAD SUCH A DIRRTY MIND".

Yeah I know I thought the same thing when she said that. Hopefully she will stop with tony, elton and all the other legends she knows telling her she needs to.

I mean a lot of damage was already there before the jazz tour, it is why she struggles to go past and E5 with support when she could belt G#5's when she was younger (I know as you age you loose high notes but in this case,  in the space of a few years and after heavy drug use and smoking I think the latter is the more likely cause). She defaintly normally uses good technique but then her coach is don lawerence and he also coached Xtina so maybe shes reached the point with him where he teaches bad technqiue? Who knows. I think she should get a classical voice coach.

She was getting her support back and had her best recent D5 belt at the oscars. Pink got some of her upper register back when she gave up smoking, it really would make a big difference.

I can't agree more. She should immediately stop smoking.

I love her voice at 2.24 also so much  > "need need it, every... " but it sounds not like xtina at all for me.

It reminds me of a singer in a bar with deep stories and whiskey in voice :classy:
