^ this. I really don't understand why she covers her face :nails: It's just useless and repetitive

by trying not to celebratize herself, she is ironically doing just that with this gimmick lmao. its like, why now, when she's been making indie music for like a decade.

That's what I've been saying as well. She was an indie artist before, so if she didn't want to be a recognised celebrity, why wasn't she happy to keep making music that kept her at indie level? Why did she decide to start teaming up with generic artists and make songs to appeal to the masses? Why did she embark on making songs like this for herself, thus making her more famous? If she doesn't want to be recognised, why does she even do live performances and tours at all? And why does she court controversy in her videos if she doesn't want people to talk about her?

For all people try to say that Sia's so real, I think she's a big fake. Pretending she had social anxiety to explain why she hid her face was a really insensitive lie (she later dropped this claim, instead saying that she just liked to create an air of mystery around her). Saying she wants to be anonymous while simultaneously being constantly in the public eye is a big contradiction. Artists who genuinely shun celebrity life rarely do interviews, rarely attend events, rarely do live performances, they rarely even release albums. But Sia does the opposite of all that. The funny thing is, she gets away with covering her face and not showing her personality without getting criticised. If Gaga did that (someone who she ironically stole a lot of her imagery from), she'd get slammed for being pretentious, ridiculous and "who does she think she is?" It's weird how some artists get a pass for things that other artists wouldn't.

My thoughts exactly. And despite all of that pretentious contrite bs, her music is just awful. Her voice is so grating and all her songs are the same.
