It's ballad heavy yet still has bops and manages to be sonically cohesive while still experimenting with different sounds. The music hasn't been watered down by Max Martin and the ballads cover new topics never before explored by Gaga. I think with Adele's next album she should look to Joanne for a possible direction. Gaga doesn't follow that mentality. She's always known to step outside the box and not be confined to something.
