Hello :) I was just listening to this iconic bop that got away:

And I had a thought... So I won't hear the Joanne snippets but I heard people talk about 'retro' vibes from either Come to Mama or Grigio Girls... Do they sound any similar to this? Because I'd live

Not at all. Of the genres I hear on the album, I don't really hear anything funky. Some of it's certainly retro, but not really the type of retro that Gaga's done before on her own. I don't really know of a better way to put it. I guess something comparable might be what Panic! tried to do with that song "Death of a Bachelor," I think it's called. "Come to Mama" is a bit like that. At least, you could trace their origins to the same era and type of music. "Grigio Girls" is a bit more modern, I would say. It's a bit like what Sara Bareilles does in my opinion.

Only the fact that she talks in Reel Cool 'put your hands together for the pony scene' or whatever she says

i think dancin' in circles has something like this if I remember correctly :oprah: one definitely has some sort of catchy whisper or talk during chorus that I am hyped for :excited2:

John Wayne sounds like a mix of stuck on ****ing you with mary jane holland vibes to me

Come To Mama is really a song that makes you feel like a 60s housewife being happy in her kitchen

Come to mama sounds 60s doo-wop retro; i know people don't like this, but it's very meghan trainor. I've also seen people compare the sound/melody to "Christmas (please come home)" lol

Just another day and and Hey girl (which literally sounds like elton's "bennie and the jets") give 70s pop.

Ayo doesn't really sound retro to me, neither does  Grigio Girls (maybe a bit 90s alternative pop?)

Everything else sounds folk-esque (sinners prayer, john wayne, million reasons); or stripped down ballad (angel down, joanne)

and then pop-rock (diamond heart, perfect illusion)

last comment--i don't get why so many people keep saying country?

No, Joanne is folk and country.

No funky vibes on there.
