BlaqJezus 1,027 Posted October 8, 2016 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Like many here, the adoration for the Countess is strong, but it is closer to Gaga than most roles would be, and therefor I have to choose Scath. This new role showcases a character who strong feminine figure, but very different from Gaga, and it really shines with her acting prowess. Its that sense that Gaga falls away, and someone else is revealed. When I look at Scathach, I don't see Gaga, I see her character and the gut feeling is different. Her acting has improved, the character isn't an almost an exact replica of herself, and she looks scary (in a good way). It was her first time reading and memorizing multiple scripts as she's never had a recurring role before that. I do like this character very much as well, and yes it's "farther" from real Gaga. But we're borderline insulting Gagas actual characteristics by comparing her to the Countess. We know she's down to earth and chill in real life. Maybe it's the different accent and overall vibe of the story, but I feel this to be more authentic. The Countess was alright, but this season really sold me on the idea of her being able to act! Though I have to admit that the performance in that episode last season that was all about the background of the Countess was STELLAR and amazing.
