Another thread saying PI isn't a great song because the GP didn't like it :toofunny: Why is it so important for you guys to keep repeating it? Do you think you gonna change anyone's opinion? :ladyhaha: Do you need people on this forum to agree with you because you are insecure of your tastes?

I don't consider everything that do well on the charts to be great music, this is such a simplistic view.

That's just not true lol. PI is not even girlie. The reason it is flopping is because the little bottoms are not into it.

I think, for what i gathered from the snipets i heard on a rush, that it does belong to the album. And it seems to represent what she intends to really say in her roundabout ways.

Sorry but this album is as conceptual as any of her other albums lol. The way she did though and the song in itself aren't good enough to explain it.

It probably should have been the last single. But i don't remember enough of the lyrics to quite explain it better loool. She should have started with a song showing her wounded side and finishing with the raging song that explains how she became hurt and isolated, something like that. Because the way they presented it, it makes no sense

Reported DAHLING. I hope you get banned.

You care so much about what others think, I would be surprised if you had any opinion of your own.

I know I'm setting myself up to hearing your opinion by responding to you but that's a risk I just have to take. YUCK.

lol I know. I get disgusted by some member's total lack of personal opinion until I see how old they are, and then I kick myself for coming on this forum in the first place.

I love PI! I think it's a great song, my favorite Gaga track? Nope. But I still enjoy the song and will probably enjoy it more within the whole album.

GP liking a song means literally nothing about a song. They pick songs without any prior knowledge of an artist or production value or artistic process--if it is catchy, simple, and usually easy to understand, then they pick it up. Occasionally they get a well made album which is also critically acclaimed, but otherwise it is random.

Besides Bad Romance, GaGa's lead singles tend to be nothing special, or not the best or most well liked of the songs in her albums, like Born This Way and Just Dance, great records? Yes. The best on the album? Most would agree that, no they aren't.

We haven't heard the album, wait till that happens, and then decide. Many are saying this is a departure for her, but to me, it sounds just like many of her old records, but free of too much electronic noise (which I loved, but isn't right for this album).

I'm a 28 year old straight woman and LOVE PI, I don't get this "only little bottoms like it" at all... :saladga: I'm happy Gaga took the risk and released it!

I have not yet heard the snippets and even if I had, it would be too early to see if PI fits to the album or not.

T h a n k Y o U !!!

First off, this isn't a departure Dancin in Circles sounds like a FM track and John Wayne has Mary Jane Holland vibes. And yes, PI does belong on the album and I'm glad there is a thread for this because I wanted to create one.

The album begins with Diamond Heart, an umtemp song to describe the beginnings of a happy romance, A-YO her fun loving dancing self. THen we get to Joanne, the sadness and grief resulting in loosing a family member, John Wayne shows how she's maybe not as happy as in Diamond Heart and she finds herself going for the same old John. A bad boy she wants to get high with.

Dancin in Circles seems to be about not really moving to anything different as well, as being in circles doesn't exactly indicate a particular direction, she's happy, but perhaps a bit stuck as well. then Perfect Illusion starts. It has a hard beat. The hardest on the album. It's filled with rage. She's realizing not everything is how it seems in the beginning of the album, she's transitioning to different psychological and emotional places in her heart. Then we get to Million Reasons. She isn't so angry anymore she really wants a reason to stay. Be it the music industry (which I think the song is about) or even towards a lover, even though it was a perfect illusion, she needs just one reason to stay.

Sinner's Prayer she's now a bit cynical. She's relating to her Natalie and how she may be jumping into the same pattern with guys and that she's now going to break the hearts of guys as hers was broken.

I'm not entirely sure what Come to Mama is about yet, But with the return to a more upbeat tune and the line "they'll be no future if we don't figure this out" she's still looking to solve this relationship , be it with family, or a man.

Hey Girl is pretty straight forward about Stan wars basically. There's no other way to look at it besides a feminine power strong showing that maybe it's time for her to seek out female connections instead of her difficult heterosexual relationships.

Finally we have Angel Down. How someone is broken in the end, but there's somehow a sense of calmness to her voice to show it isn't all sadnesss.

And honestly, I would've put Just Another Day on the main album. It's back to her red & blue days, she's making her music, simple, and she's just going on with her day.

PI is put in the middle of this album as it should be, it's a perfect juxtaposition both lyrically and melody wise.

Would I have chosen it as the lead single? No. honestly I think million Reasons should've been the first single, and then A-YO, Diamond Heart, and Angel down.

Sorry for this essay. But I've been really emotionally invested in this album. I think it's her best to date, and I'm not the one to just say I love everything gaga does. I am so proud of her and thankful for this album. I needed it at this point in my life and we always seem to be connected as her albums reflect my current stance in life. This truly is an iconic album.

I think its a good live song, but not a good radio song. But I think the reason they chose it as the lead is because it sounds more like her old stuff than anything else on the album. I think they were concerned that the other songs were too much of a change for her old fans. They were trying to ease her old fans into the new Gaga sound. So PI is sort of  a bridge between the two. I also think maybe Joanne is suppose to be sort of like TFM and PI is to be its version of Bad Romance.

Obviously you are in serious denial she has to move on from Pokerface-type-of-songs. What if is plummeting down the charts? Like seriously if you like it that's all that matters tbh...

Do you listen to music only if it's charting high? Extremely sad.
