Bebe 17,289
He is an idiot, nobody should vote for him, but I pardon him for this. The question was framed in a very obvious way, it's an attack on third parties that is super old. He doesn't want Trump to win, but he doesn't think he should be blamed for potentially "Siphoning votes away from Hillary" which is a ludicrous charge. It's basically "Why are you running?? Are you a terrible person for running and gaining some support?? Would you be responsible if Hillary lost??" it's really crazy. The Detroit News has endorsed Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson for president, abandoning Donald Trump and Republicans. Cornell College Republicans endorsed Gary Johnson instead of Donald Trump. Many conservative groups have refused to endorse Trump and have instead endorsed Gary Johnson. I mean I personally know conservatives who f*cking love Gary Johnson for some bizarre reason. Gary Johnson, politically, aligns with conservative values. Why would he be siphoning votes from Hillary? The argument could be made that he is siphoning votes away from Trump. It's that it's an unfair criticism to say "Well you've gained some popularity, a significant portion of voters seem to support you, isn't that unfair to the parties with the most power??". It's one thing to argue that you shouldn't vote third party because they are not strong enough, but it's another thing entirely to blame a third party candidate for garnering some support. If Hillary wasn't in the race and the Democratic Party decided, for some bizarre reason, not to run I'm sure Jill Stein would have a lot more support behind her - but nobody is out there like "Hillary, aren't you just syphoning away the progressive vote from Jill Stein??"
