I am LIVING for these meltdowns.

like....thank you Gaga for your Joanne album which is unhinging this fanbase.

Born This Way caused a few meltdowns (album cover, The Edge of Glory music video, Adele's 21 overshadowing its existence), ARTPOP caused more (Applause VMA performance, Jewels n Drugs, Venus/DWUW single switch, R.Kelly, GUY's chart run), but Joanne isn't even out yet and this forum has spiraled into a dystopian realm of mania and brimstone.

PI was cute.

I like the songs from last night better. Even the performance of PI was great. Those synths during the verses >>>>>

I'm sure the album will satisfy my need for new Gaga music.

These meltdowns though....PURE ENTERTAINMENT. I look forward to many more this era and into the C3C era. This forum is LOIFE.

Praise the lordt our Ga'd. Lord Gaga. Lady Gaga, IndieGa. She is my everything.

Truthfully I'm going to miss her pop music, but her new direction is still great!

Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

Really? :awkney: saying that is sad. Meltdowns are sad, all of us are fans here. To say you're happy some fans are having meltdowns is sad and hurtful, you should wish the acclaim was universal and everyone was happy.

What I find funny is the fans here, knowing full well how unpredictable Lady Gaga is, are going into despair about how non-electronic dance pop her new music is when we have had knowledge for several months now that this was the direction she was going in.

Elton said it was her reminiscent of earlier work (that is, Red & Blue regardless if you count, that record is still hers and the very first instance of professionally recorded music we have of her, even if it isn't her technical debut album)

If anything, what she's doing now, sounds like the YouTube performances of her while she was still at Tisch (Electric Kiss, for example) just with an added band. And that's not a regression. Electric Kiss is a good song.

In another interview, her album was described as "analog" and her voice "husky". Both of which, while are open to wide interpretation, don't lend themselves to dance pop music.

Yall were fine when she was causing meltdowns to other people (meat dress, Kermit dress, 2009 VMA performance) but when she shook the fanbase is when she crossed the line?

Yall even defended those shenanigans (This is GAGA. Her meat dress is her performance art!), when non-fans were triggered and melting down.

This woman has made a career of testing people. Don't act brand new just because it happened to you this time. Her whole shtick is keeping people on their toes and not knowing what she's going to do next. That's the Gaga we had from 2008 and it's the same Gaga we have now.

I particularly don't care for country or rock, but I know a well crafted song when I hear one. What she played last night had mature, relatable lyrics that actually made sense (I want your horror, I want your design, g0rl wut?) and included MELODIES (her catalogue was in desperate need of actual melodies) and diverse instrumentation from what she previously has recorded.

Not to mention her vocal performances as a whole from the Oscars 2015 and forward (excluding that radio performance the other day :green:) far surpass any vocal performance from TF/M, BTW and AP.

Steller vocals, mature lyrics, catchy instrumentation, what else do you need in a song?

Frankly, she needed this. No shade AT ALL, but Bad Romance and Telephone NEEDED music videos. Her career thus far has thrived on eye catching visuals because the music alone was only so much. I started to take notice of that when the Alejandro video came out. I remember thinking to myself, this video is cool (and long), but that song is...bleh. I stuck around because I believed in her talent and still do.

I stan for good music, regardless of the genre. :nails:

For some of you, if it's not the genre you want, then it's automatically a bad song and judge the song, not based on its merits, but on its genre. Only a few of you have been able to admit that and that's admirable. The rest of you trump of random things about the song that ultimately don't even make sense. But the tantrums some of you have thrown here, I can't do anything but cackle.

That being said, what IS lacking this era is the Gaga-esque performances but you only played yourself if you thought that would all fit on that tiny dive bar stage for a 20 minute set.

We will see how this era plays out but at the rate yall are throwing in the towel, you won't know either way.
