How many times does it have to be said?

Disco-pop fusion with funk. Giorgio Moroder, RedOne, Daft Punk, Nile Rodgers.

It appears she abandoned that in favor of Mark Ronson.

Was Nile confirmed for her album or the Chic album.

Also, from what she played tonight, there were definite pop and funk influences there.

You already have the album. Just go back to it and listen to it on repeat.

Going back to the past? No thanks. I like change.

If you want a rehash, listen to ARTPOP.

I want the visionary who created the album. Not the same album.

Listen, you guys can have your opinion on this and that's perfectly fine. But country sounding music just isn't for ME.

I'll always like Lady Gaga, but I'm losing touch with her as a singer. If my ears don't like it, they don't like it.

Yeah, unfortunately. That's where she ****ed up. I answered your question, you don't think my suggestion was a bad idea, there shouldn't be any deflection about it. There were other places except this she could have gone and succeeded in, perhaps better. But she didn't. Don't be shocked that people are disappointed.

Most of the **** she's performed today falls into the "country pop" category.

It sounds lame as **** and I'm not even kinda here for it.

What I don't understand is for those who don't like her new direction, what direction was she supposed to go in?

Pick herself up after the failure that was ARTPOP and make an amazing electronic pop album for once.

I'd even take a disco/funk/electronic album at least that would bare some semblance to her past work. :usrs:

How many times does it have to be said that Joanne is a different more organic type of pop music. This album won't be anything like her previous albums but many here are still in denial. Also just because you don't like the genres Gaga is going for it doesn't mean that the songs are bad. In my opinion, all the songs that Gaga has shown us are actually great songs (Million Reasons is her best ballad). By this time is kind of pointless to complain about Joanne's sound because you know very well that the album will have more organic songs like a Million Reasons. Finally Joanne is still POP MUSIC. Many here think pop music consist of the electronic dance or trap stuff always plays in the radio but pop is a broad genre. The essence of all the songs Gaga has previewed so far are all pop.

Can this illogical defending of Gaga's music please stop tbh :neyde:. Pop and Country don't mix. Of course people here will hate it. Y'all NEED some sense. *ignore. Double post

Gaga and sameness don't mix.

This. There are other sub-cultures of POP she can explore.

Don't get me wrong. I love Perfect Illusion. I love her imagery this era. But I was hoping for it to be more cohesive you know? When you look back at TF, TFM and BTW (even ARTPOP), her collective sound was cohesive and just right.

And I hate that pink cowboy hat.

i don't get it. She has been there, and done that. She mastered pop music. After Bad Romance there's no way to go but down. It's literally perfection. I'm glad she's exploring new directions; which doesn't have nothing to do with being pretentious. She has enough talent to compose all types of music (and it's ok if u don't like it).

She should stick to one profitable sound and make that type of music forever? Hello, Katy Perry?

NO, THANKS. I'm glad she's taking risks, and i'm ready to enjoy new music.

I'm not saying she has to be basic. I'm saying there are other ways to reinvent yourself without going into other genres.

Pop music is not limited to Katy Perry or Britney Spears.

Exactly. And believe or not everything from Joanne so far is pop.

Ask 800 people which genre they hate the most. Most of them will say country. If she wants to make music in the world's most hated genre, she can go ahead, but expect criticism.

Million Reasons is country. Sinner's Prayer is country/folk.

Nobody is questioning that. The Fame and ARTPOP sound nothing alike. Every album sounds different. Y'all need o stop deluding yourselves that she had never changed her sound before from 2009-13, and ARTPOP to Joanne isn't an indistinguishable change to a genre people of pop music don't like.

It's like saying that Simon and Garfunkel were country even though they were technically folk rock. Some people just need to start listening to more music.

She's still a visionary. Just because it's not in the direction you preferred doesn't change that.

Electronic pop is over.

Y'all really need to get a grip on that and to be honest, that seems to be the root cause of the meltdowns. No shade, but y'all wanted an Adele where each album is like the last.

To be fair, PI has synths in it, they're just not as prominent like Just Dance.

The lyrics she sings are very much still GAGA. I do not consume much country (which is not the genre she is heading towards, tonight's performance was POP), but I know a well crafted song when I hear one. The songs she played tonight, while not something you would probably hear regularly on the radio, weren't bad songs.

And that's another distinction y'all struggle with. A genre you don't like =\= a bad song.

One thing to note is that you can tell she had matured as a song writer. Million Reasons was much less cringey than Speechless and Yoü & I.
