Asking a CFDA Fashion Icon Award winner about her outfit is not sexist. Complimenting a pop star on their body when they use their body to sell their work is not sexist.

I see what you're saying. Its just annoying to me (and maybe to Gaga too, which is why she started singing "Hey Girl" when her outfit was mentioned) because it seems like Gaga is trying to move away from all of that. She wants to be taken seriously as a musician and have the focus be on the music.

Honestly, it's sad that we are living in a time when ALL music artists are sized up by their appearance. I know that the "look" has always been important for pop acts, but somehow in our modern times, sex appeal has completely replaced actual music quality in the overall interest that our culture has for our artists. 

Excuse me... isn't it the quality of their music that is most important?

Just take a stroll down memory lane with me and recall the 1980's... some of the most iconic songs we have were recorded by artists who would not stand a CHANCE at relevance today, simply based on their looks.

But these artists gave us some of the greatest songs of our lives. 

It's shameful, the world we live in today.

Most people who want to be taken seriously don't wear crop tops and cootchie cutters for a month straight. I don't think it's a matter of her wanting to be taken seriously. I think she just wants to take the focus away from image and onto music. Which is a huge diversion from everything else she has done, and there for totally warrants questioning by interviewers.

But to say her gender has something to do with it is kind of a joke.

But I do think her gender plays a role in comments relating to her image. Its a well known fact that the media talks about female bodies more than make bodies.
