I like both, but I can say they're both legends but Gaga will have the bigger legacy in my OPINION

She'll definitely be remembered in music. While Gaga has made an impact it was 'shorter' if that's the word. Gaga punched us with impact, while Taylor is slowly seeping her poisonous impact through the veins of music culture (basically what I mean is that her impact grows/spreads over time rather than in an instant à la Gaga 2009/10).

If that isn't impact, then nothing is. :toofunny:

Taylor is on par or above Gaga, in terms of sales, longevity, and general likeability. Gaga has her antics & costumes to have people gush over, Taylor has her ill-fated relationships. They both stayed relevant through controversy.

it is hard to say, both girls are really young and as much as they have achieved so far, they have so much more ahead of them.... they need years and years of work to leave a legacy compared to the stars who came before them.

With time majority of everyone's work becomes forgotten, and very few things leave a big mark in history, so they need much more to have such a huge body of work that a lot of it gets remembered.

I dont know. ICONIC Status often matters more for being remembered than commercial sales

If u look at the biggest selling acts of all time im music history many of the top 20 No one knows who the heck they are now yet some who sold less u hear about a lot now

Tho Rihanna sold more singles and got more top 10s than anyone in decades and her career has lasted for 13 years now, U never hear about her when she doesnt have a single topping the charts in that moment

On the other hand Other artists like Gwen Stefani and I even dare say Britney Spears who had less hits throughout her career always had more media exposure and relevance in peoples minds years after their last hit

If an artist is seen as iconic and unique, they dont need to be #1 all the time to be remembered. But if they are too ordinairy and dont stand out, they can have all the #1s in the world and they are forgoten the moment they stop making hits

Niw obviously someone like Rihanna wont just be forgotten after 13 years of hits, ppl will know who she is. But she simply wont be aler about when she isnt on the charts

Idk, if Gaga continues the way she's been going I don't see her being a big legend, but I also see Taylor as having a bit of a Shania Twain legacy. I'm gonna go with neither being super remembered musically but they'll both always have iconic pop culture moments (Taylor's thanks to Kanye and Kim).

Taylor also has more Grammys and won AOTY though

You're right but Taylor's impact so far is not as big compared to Gags.

She's already a legend and one of the most succesful artists in the country industry. :toofunny: She had a TFM lvl pop era with 1989 :toofunny: She has a Bad Romance lvl hit (Blank Space) :toofunny:  Only female with 2 AOTY :toofunny: More Grammys and top 10 hits than Gaga :toofunny: Consistently successful tours  :toofunny:  I'm sure there are a billion other things I'm forgetting :toofunny:

Yea she's commercially successful, has hits & awards but that's not the same as having an impact

I am genuinely curious as to how you define impact. Please elaborate.

Such a shame. :neyde:

She is just another sell out who uses messages like female empowerment to sell her music. It's not like she never said **** about Katy Perry and other female. One of the fakest person on earth. I am definitely team Kanye thank god Kim exposed her. I think she deserves an Oscar for playing her innocent sweetheart persona.

Musically, she is just writing these repetitive songs. She is hiring the hottest producers. Vocals were cynically produced in 1989(can't even sound like the album vocals without all the filters and compressors and effects). Song writing is cheap (as suggested by John Mayer). Can't really hit the notes live. Cant really dance well. Can't really play guitar well (only knows few chords). Bling not the music I see.:reductive:

At least Gaga has more to offer artistically. Don't care if TS does better commercially but will always stan for my girl Stefani.:unicorn:

Probably <3 She already has such an extensive catalog of achievements its insane. She's a widely known philanthropist, her song writing and music is what's usually spotlighted, she's broken a ton of records, 1989 was constantly compared to Michael Jackson and Thriller, and we already have an upcoming artists that say they're inspired by her artistically or fresh artists are starting to be dubbed "The New Taylor Swift". She will definitely have a lasting legacy, Gaga might to but I don't know if she's at the same level yet

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~
