StrawberryBlond 14,819
She handled it in a very dignified way. It could have been worse, she could have pulled an Xtina and called it a masterpiece that only true music people will get and it'll stand the test of time and be appreciated long after she's gone. That's how she responded to being asked about the floppage of Bionic 2 years later, I'm not kidding. It's clear who missed the class about humbleness. I'm so glad that Gaga doesn't sound too up herself regarding her work...as long as she doesn't start spouting album of the decade talk again.

heavymlover 340
I kind of feel bad for ARTPOP. I was listening to the whole album for the first time in quite a long time, and I found out that I actually love most of the album. There are so many gems in there. The messy era kind of overshadowed the album, in my opinion.

Lady Palutena 3,147
I'm glad she stands by ARTPOP, I love the album. And I loved the fashion, the technology, and the visuals of the era. The Koons statue, the gazing ball, seashell girl, all those amazing pop culture images all blending together and existing. I didn't like that she was basically being torn down by the media and general public, nor did I like her own fans abandoning her because she "flopped" and I definitely did not like seeing her in pain and sadness, I empathized with her on a whole other level, some part of me wished I could just meet her and have a deep conversation about life, about art, about love, you know, stuff beyond being a popstar. Just to treat her like a human being. I mean, I think I would ask her for a picture but I wouldn't post it on social media or anything because I would feel that I was exploiting her and she deserves to be more than just a famous face in a selfie for people to oggle. She's a person, just like me, she has hopes, dreams, fears, all the things I have. I never would have thought I could relate to a popstar. I'm thankful for her existence. sipthistea 21,099
Many people were (and are)ย so harsh on her, just because the album didn't sell as much as her previous ones. It's unbelievable that she gets dragged for sales, but people like Justin Beiber (who treats fans like BS), are praised and forgiven.ย ARTPOP is a jewel, and deserved so much more. Wisdomless1 281
I love that she said that and part of me does feel she had to learn that in some respects. Either way I'm glad she's speaking her mission of not caring about what people thinks and it only exacerbates the lessons she was trying to spread during the Born This Way era. Be yourself, be you, do what you like. If people think you're 'better than that' or that you should do something different the reality is they should look to find what they want out of someone elsewhere instead of forcing or encouraging someone to act differently. Lord Temptation 11,209
ARTPOP was just too good for it's own good. It is an antiwar protest album, except that it deals with the war inside all of us. Nobody wants to feel guilty for turning their back on their ownย innocence. display name 4,360
I'm glad that she hasn't completely distanced herself from the album. Didn't she say that ARTPOP's songs were designed to be radio hits or something though?
