What I meant is that she could do with knowing what her audience and not being in a bubble. It's not just for the money, it's for her evolution as a pop artist as well. If she creates a hit, then that's just a byproduct of the song's popularity. A song shouldn't be made for the sake of the charts and positions, but instead made because the artist wants it. The production, however, can be "radio friendly". The production on ARTPOP really took a seat of importance 'cause the whole album (save Dope) was supposed to be this "explosion of my pain in electronic music".
