gagzus 15,829
Nothing she's ever said to me feels "pretentious" because I have the same thought process as her so I understand where she comes from often. I think the only thing she does to me that feels that way inclined is trying to remake her overrated EP over and over again and comparing AP to it. HANZ 4,380
"Album of the decade" she thought she was the second coming of jesus when she said that and her peers were inferior to her, or at least that's what I and the GP thought of that My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48

Frankenztein 1,172
The best is still the interview in Norway when she calls her self a Rock Star. I rather enjoy some of her grandiose posturing, but I recognize it for what it is. The result of her insecurities. Some of her big talk has led to good moments and also some cringe moments, but she's human after all. She does at times seem to buy into her own crap, and thinks it smells good (in regards to past interviews not her music). I just hope her nerve still applies to some bold/challenging pop performances.
Infinity Wave 7,635
I love her amd think she is nevah pretestious or stuff, but the fact that she keeps her glasses on sometimes even during intetviews makes me cringe tbh.. in the last interview you can even clearly see the circular light they use to light up the set of the interview... like wtf gagz take those glasses off you are not in the open sun come on But I love her Colourful

StrawberryBlond 14,820
Yeah, some of the stuff she said during the BTW era got a bit cringey when she overdid the whole "love yourself" message, even though that's my favourite album from her. And a lot of interviews during AP were pretty cringey too when she was trying too hard to be different. And back when she used to change her voice, that was bad. I can't really think of any specific moments that haven't already been mentioned, but she's had more than a few. But honestly, she can get away with it because she is genuinely a bit weird and eccentric and it's just her way. But she's certainly been given a run for her money recently. So many popstars are going more and more pretentious, trying to be "un artiste" when they're quite clearly a manufactured product. If it weren't for Gaga and Beyonce's latest albums and even Sia, we wouldn't have popstars these days trying to be something they're not. 19 minutes ago, Infinity Wave said: I love her amd think she is nevah pretestious or stuff, but the fact that she keeps her glasses on sometimes even during intetviews makes me cringe tbh.. in the last interview you can even clearly see the circular light they use to light up the set of the interview... like wtf gagz take those glasses off you are not in the open sun come on But I love her Good point. I remember thinking it was cringey during the Barbara Walters interview when she said: "I don't normally take off my glasses for interviewers but I'll make an exception for you." Oh...that would not have come over well if I was in Barbara's shoes. And this was only when she'd just become famous! She hadn't exactly earned the right to do stuff like that. And yeah, I was just thinking about that PI interview as well and the circular light's reflecting in her sunglasses and I actually wondered after a while if that's how the glasses were supposed to look! Because if you look closely enough, it looks like the circular light is her eyes in the centre of the glasses, like a scary face! It's a "once you see it, you'll s**t bricks" moment! But no, I think it was just a badly placed light and a bad glasses choice. I wonder if she even realised how it looked afterwards? Whatever, it looks hilarious! giskardsb 12,565
If you want an artist confident in her abilities and willing to take risks and do things differently, then you will have to put up with a certain level of what many of you incorrectly call "pretention." The two things often go together and any adventurous artist will have to have certain level of confidence about their work and understanding of a deeper picture of it in order to put it out there.
