Anderson123 38,377
They're both around the same level, that's why they're called the Queen and King of Pop. I gotta say, MJ is a little more iconic now that he has passed away, his music reached a new generation. I still remember his music being played everywhere that year. Not to mention Thriller is the best selling album of all time. Edit: I'm pretty sure most people voting on that website are not even 80's kids. Rivington Rebel 359
Is anyone/anything more iconic than Madonna?
shoful 13,304
MADONNA IS MORE ICONIC THAN THIS WORLD. When she dies the gates of Hell will burst open and claim unworthy souls who have yet to worship the ground she walked on. I will hopefully be placed beside her holy throne. Hexxx 2,244
Michael had amazing visuals in his music videos and great performances, but Madonna took more risks imo. Bear 7,515
I think Michael is more recognizable and iconic for sure, but I'd put Madonna a close second.

Lextyr97 19,953
I think Madonna is quite frankly really underrated. After listening through her discography, she took some incredible risks. Way bigger risks than Gaga right now. Like, going from Ray of Light to American Life? Or just doing Ray of Light in general. Obviously ROL is an excellent album, but looking at all her other albums, it's so different, and I could see it as potentially being seen negatively. Luckily that wasn't the case. And then there's the whole erotica era, dressing as she pleased, and so on. I think once she dies, people will see her at the same, if not above, Michael's status. Madonna is an incredible artist with an equally incredible history behind her.
