No, just no! Remember her for a country song? That would be tragic!

It's not even country tho.. It's rock:reductive: but yeah the music video makes it feel country but it's not

Lyrically, I think her best song is Speechless.

But Yoü and I is definitely one of her best, musically, lyrically, everything. It's a classic, it's always something when she sings it. I think it's one of her signature songs, Bad Romance is iconic but this one will always be there, it will always have a special place in the fans' heart.

The production on the BTW album is country. Music genre is based on bass/drum combination and that song is no doubt country. Now, when she performed it live on the Monster Tour, yeah soft rock. The jazz version is jazz. The video was awesome! The core of the song, awesome. The problem: I was tired of it by the time BTW was released because I loved the live version. And country is my least favorite type of music. So, if this is not enough evidence to support my claim that the genre of the song "Yoü and I" from the BTW album is country, it was produced Mutt Lange-one of the most famous country producers of all time.

Worse choice for single of all time! Killed momentum of Born This Way!

Judas slowed the momentum of Born This Way before Yoü and I was even thought of as a single. If they had skipped straight to TEOG for the second single, she would've had another #1 record.

It was too much start and stop actually. "Judas" was a great choice but they gave up on it too fast. It was still a hit. Video views are massive, sold over a million, still hit top 10 and stayed in top 20 over a month. "Yoü & I" did not fair well over seas at all. MTN should've been 2nd single. I think anything she would've release as first single would've been massive no matter what it was, riding off success of The Fame.

It's arena rock. It samples "We Will Rock You," the trope conifer for the genre. The music video being set in a cornfield made people think of it as country, but if you listened to country and then listened to Yoü and I you'd see a huge difference.

Been a long time but I'm back in town, and this time I'm not leaving without you

It's trash. JESUS CHRIST :saladga:
