Trump stood on stage and basically bragged about not paying taxes, bragged about forcing the first black POTUS to prove his citizenship, was all-in on stop and frisk, was constantly on the defensive, and was flustered throughout. It was a performance full of self-inflicted wounds. He won't lose any of his base (I'm not sure there's anything he could do that would cause them to jump ship), but he'll have lost some undecideds and if it was possible to poll any lower with African Americans, his performance last night will ensure that. The question is whether or not Clinton can keep this momentum. The debates should always be favorable ground for her: she's an impeccably-credentialed policy wonk and he's a deeply-underqualified candidate with a tenuous grasp of the issues and a temperament that makes him prone to flying off the handle. She showed she was the better debater sure, but I don't think she won over anyone doubting between the two or convinced those people who think she's just "in it for the power" Her "prepared" remark was good, but it underlined something else I read about her that it seems like she's the smartest kid in the class, but those don't always win popularity contests. I was undecided initially and from looking at the debate and what transpired, there's no way in the world someone can say that Trump performed better. I've said it in many topics... It's just not the case. The only arguments for him are centered around his being louder and on the offensive the entire time, and the mud-slinging. If someone is going to vote on irrelevant hot topic issues such as the emails or the trump college lawsuit, they're going to vote off of that no matter what. That's what those issues are made for - to attract voters who aren't political and just enjoy the sensationalism. But those issues have nothing to do with policy or what it takes to be an effective leader, and I hope that the educated portion of society go and vote. Somehow being loud is all you need to win someone over. I also don't think it was a good look for him past the first quarter of the debate, where Hillary didn't budge, was comprehensible, and Donald's loudness equated to bumbling around and not detailing ANYTHING! How can someone say he won? He didn't say anything at all! That is a FACT! My god. What are they basing their measure of victory on? His business is anything but America. And his tax return defense was bull. There's no reason not to release them. He's hiding something. Although Hillary and her emails say hi as well. It's hard to criticize Trump and not Hillary as well. Also, PPP polls show Hillary was favored. But I can also see how it could've been a tie.
