Not The Real Gaga

Hey guys!

Can you imagine we were all so excited just a few weeks ago? After years of waiting and waiting for new Gaga-pop music, we finally got her brand new single "Perfect Illusion". The lead single of her - previous called "LG5" - upcoming "Joanne"-album.

Personally, I love the music more than the bling. Actually, I don't care about the charts, views, streams, etc. But I know a lot you people do. And lets be honest... Speaking in general, the start of Gaga's new era isn't a huge success. Maybe it is because of the lack of good promotion, maybe it is because of the quality of the song itself.

All in all, I think this isn't the start a lot of us Monsters hoped for and dreamed of. Disregard your personal opinion about the lead single - "Perfect Illusion" - Do you think Gaga and her (management and creative) did a right job with starting this era in this way? So, with the choice of "Perfect Illusion" as the first single, the release of it without that much promotion, the lack of unique outfits/wigs/make-up, etc.?

Love u:hug:

No because of too much negativity. I love the song and I wanted to show support for it but not even 3 days in, some ""monsters"" already gave up. :neyde:

I love Perfect Illusion, I just wish there were some HQ performances, not for the charts, but because I love watching her perform. Live performances really take any Gaga song to the next level.

Besides this negative "fanbase" I'm happy. I like Perfect Illusion which is what matters to me :)

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

I'm excited for new music regardless of what style or genre it is. I love "old gaga" but that doesn't mean she won't ever be avant-garde ever again. As long as she keeps making albums, I'll be happy.

I love how she rolled out the announcements, Very clean, fast and scheduled. I'm in love with the lead single. The looks weren't amazing, but they weren't a catastrophe either, Her appearances are scant, but thoughtful. I didn't like the interviews so far, because they were all the same and we have yet to see a TV performance of Perfect llusion. I hope she doesn't go to Epione again, because some of the GP don't recognize her at all anymore.

I'm satisfied, but it is not her best era so far.

Honestly no.

PI is good, I don't really care all that much about charts/sales, so that really doesn't bother me, but the song and MV don't have much replay value (I've literally only seen the video twice). There's nothing else to enjoy, like performances, tv appearances, etc.

The big killer for me though is the absolute lack of "wow" factor. She can slay styles like pop, avant-garde, jazz, rock, farmer, you name it, but there's nothing that I feel particularly amazed by. It's not boring, necessarily, but it's close enough for me.

Hoping Joanne slays me for my life so I can take everything I said back :emma:

Music-wise yes. Otherwise not really. We get some really hot looks from her but that's like twice a week. It's been pretty uneventful. I love the album cover tho. :flutter: Just some live performances and I'll be completely satisfied.

Yep...so far so good...

I mean, did I wish the first single to be a major change musically? Yes. It definitely wasn't. But I like PI now...it's not my favorite song from her, but it's ok. As for all the other changes, I love them all and some of them were more than necessary. And I never really cared for chart performance, so to me it makes no difference...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.
