I love how no one talks about the first record of her's.

I've only listened to Chasing Pavements and Make You Feel My Love. :emma:

I want Adele to take a risk with her next record. Maybe collab with Cupcakke or have Will.i.am produce her next record.

I love 25 however I think that "Hello" and "Send My Love" have been played on the radio more than I go to the bathroom :toofunny: I think that lyric wise the album is an absolute masterpiece, however I feel like if it wasn't played on the radio as much it wouldn't be so overrated. "21" was so much better honestly, lyrically and promotionally. The songs weren't played all the time and there were more tracks that were worth listening to.

Today I was talking with my friends about how Adele is killing the music industry and pushing beyond the boundaries in terms of commercial success and acclaim.

I think with Adele it's not a matter of any of her albums being musically extraordinary but it's a matter of her being vocally iconic. With Adele it's all about her voice to be honest, she has that universal tone in her voice that speaks to all types of people, people from different countries and to people of different ages. You can say that the way Adele has blew up is similar to how people like Whitney, Mariah, Celine found their success (due to them having iconic voices).

Adele is no Gaga, Madonna or MJ and I think that's why people see her as overrated, in the sense that she may be bland but when you consider why she is successful you will see that it all comes down to her voice, which is how it should be, talent should win tbh. Adele has proven to young musicians that you don't have to look sexy or act trendy or do anything. Just be authentic and success will find you.

Do you really think musical talent is all about the voice? What about the songs? Having a good voice is meaningless if you're not singing good songs with it. This is precisely why I could never get into the likes of Whitney, Mariah and Celine - vocally impressive but their songs, in my view, for the most part, were bland, bland, bland. Not to mention interchangeable. All style, no substance. It was just about "look what I can do with my voice." And they certainly never experimented or grew, they just stuck to the same type of song forever because that's all they were capable of. I view Adele in the same way. Yeah, she has her stand-out tracks, but there's simply not enough to warrant her level of adoration. If she put the best tracks from 2 albums together, maybe it would be another matter but as it stands, all her albums only get 3/5 stars from me as only half of them are worth a second listen. And why is it that being sexy or trendy is seen as fake or a gimmick? Sure, it can be, but just because such things exist doesn't mean you're using them for that purpose. If it's just you, that is real and authentic. If singing ballads was the only way to be real and authentic, the charts would be boring and predictable.
