never.

The irony of you using a gif from a corny holiday commercial which was complete with bad CGI snow and a two dollar set...in a thread discussing when she became basic.

If you called her basic for this, you clearly don't know or understand her artistry at all.

She always filmed music video as visualization of her songs whether she was being extravagant or simplistic.

She didn't just filmed something wearing something crazy or couture for a show or to impress somebody.

Otherwise she won't have a clash against Joseph Kahn who wanted to filmed TEOG a certain way that Gaga doesn't agreed with.

So please, don't be so quick on name calling her. Gaga is never a cookie cutter kind of musician.

If you wanted to be impressed by couture or visual effects all the time without actual content inside, maybe Gaga is not or you honestly.

Ignore me? why? because i'm telling the truth?

if you don't have anything useful to say, then get your a$$ out my thread :)

Your opinion is not "truth".

I agree that PI is not as crazy and out-of-this-world as I'm used to from her, but it's refreshing to see her like this, for myself as well as many monsters. The video is what it is, there's no changing it. There's no telling Gaga what to do, we're not her managers.

I liked how flamboyant G.U.Y was tho but I watch it the least lol it's a lot to take in one video (the only other video of that era :saladga:)

When Gaga not performing well : "oh, she doesn't need charts, charts are bs, she's doing what she wants, she's growing."

When Gaga scoring no 1 over and over again : "Queen, talent always win"

Basically summing up the fans these days.

#stupid fans like this has no idea of the repercussions of an artist not performing well.

Fame was the driving force for her albums. Now that she's super famous, I'm not sure she knows where to go now with her music. I think as she matures, she will find out who she really is and reconnect with her fans. Right now, I think she and her fans are confused. The very essence of Gaga was pushing the envelope, experimenting... there was a driving force behind everything she did. That just isn't there now and really left after ARTPOP. I know that Gaga hurts alot more than she will ever let us know and maybe she's being a bit "safe" with her music and visuals. It just remains to be seen if she can get the spark back. It happens to all musicians at some point. This is not an album for the charts. She's telling Stefani's story. It not pop candy because it's autobiographical and not instantly relatable. You just have to figure out if your Gaga is all about charts and fame or your Gaga is about a real person who is trying to find her place in the world again.

Lady Palutena

So, by that logic is Beautiful, Dirty, Rich basic as well?

I mean realistically, she's just singing in a mansion with money all over and dancing with statues.

I love Beautiful Dirty Rich and the music video. I'm simply asking based on OP's definition of basic if that is the case?

Why are a lot of people referring to her as indie? She is far from it. Just because her music direction is more low key, and hasn't climbed as high in the charts as her other singles doesn't make her 'indie'.

I think each song including the video will be an evolution from the next. It is far to early to state any claims at this point. She said herself, Perfect Illusion is not indicative of the entire album. Let's just see what she has in store for this era, and then we can actually garner a complete opinion on the music :)

G.U.Y. is the video where she looks more sexy imo, even more than PI.

i guess you all trumpet Gagas experimental boundary pushing as long as she does it in the boundaries you like.  Nobody in Pop right now is doing something like PI. EVERY other pop star looking for a comeback would have fallen back on previous successes. But somehow yet another redone song with avant garde video would have counted as more  experimental to some of you when it is literally the safest thing she could have done.
