How hard is it to understand that she doesn't enjoy doing tons of promo right now? Obviously the promo-heavy approach had bad side-effects on her mental health and social life during her first 4 era's. She's just enjoying a more laid back approach, and she has every right to do so for once.

It's not weird for an artist to just let the material breathe. Putting pressure on its commercial succes kinda detracts from the extremely personal nature of such projects, too.

But she had  so much time to rest... Plus its not like she'll promote it everywhere...nonstop... this is not right...200_s.gif

I don't think it's out of the question for a fanbase to expect at least one performance of a lead single that they waited for for three years. I honestly don't care about chart success anymore, she can be as 'indie' as she likes. I just want to see my favorite artist perform her new music.

I don't think it's out of the question either for fans to support the artist they love when that artist decides to slow down a bit for the first time in 8 years.

And I'm getting so tired of people saying they "had to wait three years". Three years ago ARTPOP hadn't even come out yet, so there was still a lot of promo to be done. She had two tours, a tv-show and, oh I dont know, four career defining performances in the meantime?

Yeah, you guys really had it hard with that "three year wait" from behind your screens. How dare Gaga take it slow after that measly amount of effort she has always put in to entertain you folks, while also having to juggle her mental health and social life in the meantime.

First of all, chill out and stop attacking everyone with a different point of view. Secondly, there's a difference between slowing down and stopping altogether.

Yes, you're right, in the years between ARTPOP and Joanne she gave us a jazz album and a lead role in a TV show, and most of her fans supported her throughout these endeavours. But she didn't do these things to "entertain us folks", she did them for herself and to repair her public image. Many fans even felt she "abandoned" them during this time, but we still stuck by her regardless, despite nobody really asking for a jazz album. And now we're at the start of a new pop era (the kind of music that made her name) and it feels like she's just gone on vacation. I know I'm not the only one going WTF.

Of course I want her to remain healthy, mentally and physically, as I know she was pushed far too hard during the first 6 years of her career. But she's not some china doll. One or two performances won't kill her. This is her job.

You do know she is/was under treatment and using medication for depression, in addition to suffering from chronic hip pain? She might not be a china doll, but it would certainly be wise for her to take care of herself more than she has done previously. Especially when she feels like the approach she took in the past caused some of her unhappiness.

Besides, her "job" doesn't imply she "has to" perform on tv or at award shows. Plenty of artists don't do that. This fanbase is just so used a promo-heavy approach that everyone just seems to refuse change. But it's perfectly natural for someone with Gaga's experiences to take a breather - especially when being infamously overexposed all the time.

I'm sorry for the agressive tone in my previous posts, but it just really works on my nerves when forum members act like they somehow deserve more than Gaga has given them. She already spent so much time and effort on pandering to her audience. Don't you think she deserves to enjoy her music in her own way for once?

I am happy if Gaga is happy. If she does not want to do promo, for whatever reason, it's her decision. We really can't do anything about it.

I know she's on medication for depression and suffering from chronic hip pain, but I don't think that's the reason why she's choosing not to perform, because she's performed countless times in recent years. I think she just doesn't want to perform.

And you're right, she doesn't have to do anything other than release music... but it's just that she has gone in the complete opposite direction, from one extreme to another, so it's a lot to get used to.

From a personal point of view, I always looked up to Gaga because of her amazing work ethic, boundless creativity, fearless self-promotion, and outstanding performances. She was like a supernatural force. Now all those things that I loved about her are seemingly gone. As a long-time fan, it's disappointing. I can appreciate that she's in a different place in her life, but I fell in love with her for more reasons than just her music... and at the moment, that's all she's offering.

Because y'all remain stuck in TFM & BTW eras where she worked her ass off and remained tired and used by the media.

Y'all are REALLY doing the most to get a negative sphere around this fanbase and it's not fun anymore.

Gaga is doing her thing, if you only stan success and ****, go to your Spotify Top 100 playlists and get your life there.

Enough with the pathetic mess, the Gaga you all wished that returned remains unbothered in 2010 & 2011.

It's just bizarre how she could go from the extreme of BTW being the most heavily promoted album ever, to not even promoting her lead with a single performance or TV show appearance.

What's going on? Why doesn't she care anymore?

Why is this so hard to understand?? She's tired of the media. She's doing her own thing without having to exhaust herself with doing promotion. She knows she's not commercial. she. knows. and she doesn't give a ****

I totally get her. The media isn't what real artistic value is about anymore. And she started realising this in the middle of the ARTPOP era. Which explains a lot of her angry performances during that period. And then she started working with Tony. Which did her well.

It's not hard to understand why she's tired of the media or going in a different direction. What frustrates me is that she isn't performing AT ALL. And if she's not performing for her lead single, why would she perform for singles 2 and 3? Are we just going to get nothing this era??

Yes, she may not care about being commercial anymore, but if she wants to keep the fans she already has, then she needs to put in a little effort. I guess there will always be people shouting that it's about her artistry and she doesn't care for the charts, but I wonder if she'll be saying the same thing when she can't fill arenas or keep her giant mansions anymore.

Anyway, she's been buried now, so I guess we'll just have to adapt to IndieGa and her fabulous performance art  that is so artistic you can't even see it. :neyde:
