Yay finally a thread abt it

Personally, I think it stands a good chance to get a nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance, nothing else.

I think they'll probably ask her to perform too, they've started to love her more after C2C.

If there's an indie category then yes.

She's not getting a Grammy nomination. Let's be realistic

Doesn't look too good then :saladga:

The Grammys are known to be chart wh*re so i'm scared with PI underperformance but a nomination would means a performance which is good for ratings :udidnt:

Grammy's don't give a **** about commercial success. They do care about proven "artists" and their legacy (for better or worse, whether the song at hand is actually good).

So given that, Gaga does stand a chance for a nom.

But I wouldn't count on it... PI is an amazingly well-written song, but the production will be considered "lacking" to Grammy voter ears. And the only award they have simply for songwriting is "Song of the Year" and they rarely nominate a pop act's underperforming hit for that one.

Not shading Gaga, just saying that realistically, I don't see a great path to a Grammy win for it. Unless it becomes a sleeper hit (fingers crossed!).

I wonder what category they'd place it; pop, rock, or alternative?

I think it fits under Rock, which gives her more room to breathe.

Very true, but I have listed out possible contenders, & there aren't much tbh.

The sure-shots are:

1. Hello - Adele

2. Can't Stop the Feeling - JT

3. Love Yourself - JB

And the remaining two I had to go over some of the pop songs that charted high this year, who are also eligible.

'Rise' charted at #11, & if u look at Katy's Grammys history, only her very very successful songs (#1 or #2) get a Grammy nom, so I don't think Rise will get any noms this year.

'NO' charted pretty high too at #3, so that could be a contender, but Meghan has disappeared off the face of pop music, & Better isn't doing well, so they may consider but she's not high on the list.

'Just Like Fire' charted at #10, & it's P!nk, so I think they may put her as the 4th nominee.

'Dangerous Woman' charted at #8, but the Grammys are still warming up to Ariana, so I think she'll get a Best Pop Vocal album nomination instead.

'Perfect Illusion' charted at #15 (might still rise idk), but it's very different from any of the other songs on this list, so the Grammy committee might like it more bcos of that. Plus, it's Gaga, whom they pretty much like, if not love. (ARTPOP era aside)

These were the bigger pop songs of 2016, so I think it's down to Rise, NO, Just Like Fire, DW & PI, this is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. :)

Probably, they usually like her so it can probably snag a nomination. I doubt she would win, considering Adele and Beyonce are both up this year and they Grammy's love them even more.
