Non-shady question about Perfect Illusion's volume

Slayer

Featured Posts

I don't know how I've only just listened to Perfect Illusion on headphones for the first time (I'm usually blaring it out of my speakers), but I've noticed something really weird about the volume at the start of the song. It's like the volume starts off loud for the electronic "squeal" (that's the only way I can describe it), and then when the guitars riff, it's like the volume dips. Then it turns up again for the second squeal, then down again, and so on until the song starts.

I know there were some other people talking about the volume problems - is this what they meant? Is this a mixing error or something? It sounds like a mistake to me and it's really jarring, but I assume it was just a stylistic decision because surely Gaga wouldn't be that negligent...?

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

It was intentional. The volume increases at the chorus.

Indie artists usually do this!

It's not well done. If it's intentional, it's not good. The mastering, mixing, whatever you call it, is awful.

I do agree with the production being bad! People were getting on me for having an opinion about it

I love the song and video but I do wish the volume levels were all the same. It hurts my ears when it suddenly gets louder.

I hate when ppl can't be objective ,the volume levels in a song is an objective topic they are on point or they are not and you can't fight that :madge:

i think it's because it's her last album with Interscope they didn't care anymore they let her loose ,no strings (not that it's a bad thing) but Gaga has her limitations .Can't control everything ,like she wants , and some things might slip :neyde:

Yes ,I don't like that everytime I listen PI on my headphones suddenly it get soo loud and I turn the volume down and it gets too low after a while and the instruments could be a little bit more louder and the production to be more visible also not covering her voice .:oprah:
