Because they've known this is going on for decades, but now with everyone having the ability to film every encounter and the ability of social media to spread the videos, images and message- you have a medium to show people what POC have known all along. This movement of awareness and questioning police being the judge and jury has nothing to do with Obama and everything to do with the general public starting to see the problems that have been there all along. Just because racism didn't impact you or this woman (and others that feel the same as her) directly doesn't mean it didn't or doesn't exist. She wants POC to go back in the shadows...to "know their place" like they did when she was younger. She doesn't want to hear from them or have to see the evidence of racism. She wants to live in her white world and not be "bothered" by those who are oppressed and discriminated against. I do not agree with what that woman said which I made clear in my first comment and also said it has nothing to do with Obama and that racism has always existed so im not sure who you are talking to.. also, I am a person of color as im an Arab Muslim.
