It's a great song and video! It shouldn't get demoted just because some fans don't like it. I didn't like ARTPOP but did I cry about it? No, I just accepted that it's happening and I vowed to wait til the next album. But I still supported her by going to 3 Artraves even though I wasn't really feeling the vibe.

This single is what I wanted last era. You entitled little monsters need to realise you've had it all your way for so long. Now Gaga is doing what SHE wants to do. If she loses some fans because of it, fine by me. I know this is really harsh but Gaga is giving us something with a lot more substance and sharing a personal side with us and everybody seems to be spitting their dummy out because there's no choreo, silly costumes or bright colours. Her superficial days are over, at least for now. Just enjoy the ride and see what she has in store for us instead of crying about it. You never know, in a years time you might be living it up at the Joanne tour and Perfect Illusion might be your most favourite track to jump around and dance to. Just give it a chance.

What makes PI "substance" and "personal" compared to her other work? 

If you've been stringing your fans along for a decade with work that one day you decide isn't "the real you" that's not exactly something to brag about in the first place

The other albums were concept albums where she explored the themes of Fame and being yourself. This album is not a concept album, they are just a collection of songs about her life. It doesn't mean she's been fake every other time. It's just this time it really is the music and not the bling. PI is her singing her heart out without any autotune. She's not messing around with any gimmicks this time around.

And honestly, The song is simple, not bad. I've heard much simpler songs in all of those areas, and the songs were still amazing.

Also, something simple is extremely hard to do. People think it's easy to just simply sing on a guitar or draw a character like Kirby, but it is ridiculously stupidly hard.

She's losing fans at a phenomenal rate and it's not just because of this flop song it's an accumulation of bad decisions since at least 2013. People are moving on. If she doesn't come through next month, I'm done.

I don't understand why PI and just Gaga's overall direction's getting so much hate. You are completely, 100% entitled to not like a song, to not like a direction but I just don't get the constant negativity. 

Guys, she promised you an album, that's it. She never discussed how she'd look, she never discussed how'd she sound. All the said was that she was putting out an album, that's all. Hell, we don't even know the genre of the album, people are saying different things (pop, rock, country, disco, funk, jazz-inspired, etc. etc.)

You may not like it, you may even hate it, but to declare PI a "buzz single" and say that it's "so far below most expectations" is really sort of taking her work, taking a sh*t on it and vomiting on it. It's a great song, and great single, she's proud of it and treasures the song, don't just call it a "buzz single".

And, to say that it's so far below your/other peoples' expectations, well, I'm sorry that you expected someone that not even she said anything about. You're hyping yourselves too much then blaming Gaga on going below your "expectations". She didn't really even say anything about the album before PI's announcement! Don't blame that on her.
